Tata Power Co. Ltd Has Won A Contract To Develop Coal-Fired Thermal Power Plants In South Vietnam Against Competition From South Korean And Russian Companies. The Order Has Been Secured From The Government Of Vietnam For Execution Of Long Phu 2 Project, Based On Pre-Feasibility Studies. The Project Will Be Implemented With An Installed Capacity Of 1,200MW (2X660 MW). The Project Would Cost More Than Rs 10,000 Crore. Generally, Power Projects Are Funding In A Debt To Equity Ratio Of 70:30. It Takes Nearly 36-40 Months To Commission A Project After Acquiring Land And Other Regulatory Permissions. The Company Will Now Need To Complete Financial Closure And Draw Up A Power Purchase Agreement; Also Company Is Preparing An Mou. The Vietnam Project Would Be First Coal-Based Project For The Private Player Outside India
