Cooperative Milk Producers Union, Popularly Known As `PONLAIT` Has Drawn Up Plans To Modernize Its Milk Chilling Plant, At A Cost Of Rs 10 Crores In A Phased Manner. The Modernization Would Be Of Help To Bring In New Infrastructures In The Chilling Unit And Also In Other Aspects Of The Plant Which Was Set Up Some Twenty Years Ago. The Puducherry Government Encouraging Dairy Projects By Extending Subsidy For Purchase Of Milch Cows Under The Rashtriya Vikas Kisan Yojana The Union Territory Is Expected To Register Higher Production Of Milk.
