Chief Minister Jayalailthaa Has Announced, An Integrated Satellite Township Is To Be Established Over An Extent Of 587 Acres Near Madurai Airport. Location For Township Decided About 15 Km From Madurai In The Villages Of Thoppur And Ucchapatti, Off Madurai-Tiruneveli Four-Lane Highway. The Satellite Township Would Have 19,500 Plots, Of Which 14,300 Plots Would Be Earmarked For Low Income Group, 2,500 Plots For Middle Income Group And 750 Plots For High Income Group. Accordingly State Minister, The Township Project Would Be Implemented Out Of The Tamil Nadu Housing Board Fund. The Township Would Have Basic Amenities To Be Created At A Cost Of Rs. 120 Crore. Under This Township Other Facilities Like School Complex, Police Station, Post Office, Primary Health Facility And Developed Plots For Industry Will Also Develop
