Neyveli Lignite Corporation, Is Government-Owned Lignite Mining And Power Generating Company In India, Will Commission Its 250 MW Second Thermal Expansion Unit From September 2013. The Coal Minister, Sriprakash Jaiswal Said, Lignite Production Target And Power Generation Exceeded Every Year. He Also Added, NLC Is One Of The Best Public Sector Units In The Country And A Best Profit Making Company In The Past 16 Years. The Minister Asked Company’s Official To Complete Work And Commission The 500 MW (250X2) Thermal Power Stations (II) Expansion Unit For Which Foundation Stone Was Laid On February 4, 2006. Company Will Also Set Up A 4,000 MW Coastal Based Thermal Power Project At Sirkali Near Chidambaram, For Which Coal Purchase Tender Works Started.
