The world's largest coal producer, Coal India plans to take a proposal of setting up a Rs 9,000 crore, 1,600 MW super critical thermal power plant in Sundargarh district of Odisha.
Mahanadi Basin Power Ltd has been incorporated as a wholly-owned subsidiary of MCL for setting up of the project.
