Government of Orissa is planning to develop the Bhawanipatna-Khariar road project under the Orissa State Road Project. The project involves widening & strengthening of existing carrigeway to two lane road from Bhawanipatna to Khariar (Km 2.000 to Km 27.200 and Km 30.000 to Km 70.000 of SH-16) in Orissa. As of February 2013, bids have been invited,
