Odisha Thermal Power Corporation, a 50:50 joint venture between Odisha Mining Corporation and Odisha Hydro Power Corporation (OHPC) is setting up a 2,400 MW coal-fired power plant in the state. As of December 2012, the company has approached NTPC to provide technical consultancy for the project. In which case, NTPC will provide assistance n preparation of detailed project report (DPR), designing the plant specifications, developing tender documents, conducting bid for selection of equipment supplier and EPC (engineering procurement & construction) contractor, providing quality assurance support during the construction phase, commissioning of the project and post commissioning supervision for one year.
