Apollo tyres
Apollo Tyres is planning to set up a 2 x 7.5 MW coal-based thermal power plant in its Oragadam near Chennai in Tamil Nadu. The proposed coal-based Cogen plant will improve the overall efficiency and will reduce the pollution resulting from a separate power generation and process steam generation. This CoGen power plant will be set up in an area of 2.47 acres within Apollo's existing tyre manufacturing facility. The main fuel to be used in this power plant would be coal. As of December 2012, the project is waiting for the necessary environmental clearance
