Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur is planning to set up a super-speciality hospital in kharagpur. The project involves setting up a 750 bedded hospital along with college with technology facility, advanced medical research institute, nursing school, para medical training college and othe ancillary services such as staff quarters, water treatment plant, STP etc. The proposed institute is planned to construct on a site, located along the southern boundry of IIT campus, the site is a contiguous land of IIT Kharagpur. As of November 2012, bids have been invited.
