Himachal Pradesh Power Corporation is planning to develop the Karcham Hydroelectric Project in Kinnaur. As of November 2012, Asian Development Bank has offered loan assistance to the tune of Rs 17,010 million to finance Shongtong Karcham Hydroelectric Project.
