Inspect and clean generator rotor, stator, exciter and battery charger etc 11. Check the vibration of the engine 12. Clean voltage regulator, and control panel etc 13. Measure and record resistance reading of generator windings with insulation tester (Megger) 14. Inspect safety shutdown devices. This includes simulated faults on low oil pressure cut-off, high water temperature cut-off, over-speed cut-off and failed start 15. Check generator bearings and bearing grease. Lubricate in accordance with manufacturer's instructions 16. Visually check bus bars, bracing, and feeder connections for cleanliness and signs of overheating 17. Perform other work prescribed by the manufacturer and report Overall Condition Assessment of the DG set 18. Run generator set (under load) to check voltage, check frequency, check instrument system and make adjustments 19. Clean generator room/cabin and remove all debris as per the manufacturers checklist and make the unit a good working condition. Servicing of the Diesel Generator set includes replacing minor spares which are supplied by the consumer, attending break down calls, filling sufficient quantity water in radiator, arrest the leakage of oil or water if any, checking and cleaning battery terminals, applying petroleum jelly, check the density of electrolyte in battery, filling sufficient quantity distilled water in battery, check the connection of in built panel and make DG set in perfect working condition at all times during its operation.
