| 1 | M&L for preparation of existing concrete flooring by mechanically grinding the surface using suitable mechanical floor grinder, removing laitance, loose particles, stains and other surface contaminants, followed by thorough vacuum cleaning and preparation of the substrate, and carrying out the following treatment/operations, complete all as specified and as per manufacturer's instructions and specification:(a) Providing and applying approved epoxy primer coat over the prepared concrete substrate at the manufacturer's recommended coverage and thickness, including mixing and application complete.(b) Providing and applying 4 mm thick epoxy underlay screed of approved make over the primed surface, including preparation, mixing, laying, levelling and finishing to the required thickness, complete as per manufacturer's specification.(c) Providing and applying 2 mm thick epoxy self-levelling flooring system over the cured underlay screed, including mixing, laying and spreading uniformly to the required thickness, complete as per manufacturer's specification.(d) Immediately after application of the self-levelling epoxy layer, applying suitable spike roller uniformly over the surface to release entrapped air and obtain a smooth, uniform and pinhole-free finish, followed by allowing the flooring system to cure/dry for the period recommended by the manufacturer, complete.NOTE:Makes of flooring materials shall be SIKA India Pvt Ltd / Bostik India Pvt Ltd / Fosroc Chemicals / STP Ltd / Asian Paints Ltd,The complete EPU flooring system shall be executed strictly as a system of one approved manufacturer, with primer, underlay screed and self-levelling components being compatible with each other and used in accordance with the manufacturer's written recommendations.EPU flooring shall be carried out only by an authorised/trained applicator of the approved manufacturer. The contractor shall submit documentary proof/details of the authorised applicator to the GE for approval. The work shall not commence until the applicator has been approved by the GE.The contractor shall submit the manufacturer's technical data sheet, application procedure, recommended coverage/consumption, curing time and system warranty, wherever applicable, to the GE before commencement of work.The rate shall include all materials, labour, mechanical grinding, surface preparation, cleaning, primer, epoxy underlay screed, self-levelling epoxy, spike rolling, tools, tackles, protective measures, curing and all incidental operations necessary to complete the flooring in all respects.Thickness of the completed flooring system shall be approximately 6 mm excluding primer, comprising 4 mm epoxy underlay screed + 2 mm epoxy self-levelling layer, unless otherwise specified by the approved manufacturer's system. |
