Name of Work:- SPECIAL REPAIR TO ROAD FROM QUARTER GUARD TO GUN PARK AT (DBN) PATIALA UNDER GE(N) PATIALA GE (NORTH) PATIALA

1Material and labour for repair to potholes any depth, not exc 1.00 sqm each including sweeping free from dust and mud, or water, scoring sunken surfaces in roads, paths, etc. cutting around edges to at least 25 mm in depth, making good by filling in screened & graded road metal, watering and well ramming (including supply of road metal) complete all as specified and as directed by Engineer-in-charge.
2Material and labour for preparing existing unsurfaced water bound macadam by brushing with wire brushed for removing caked mud etc sweeping with brooms and finally fanning the cleaned surface with gunny bags to remove all loose dirt etc complete all as specified and as directed by Engineer-in-charge.
3Material and labour for applying evenly a priming/tack coat of VG-10 grade paving bituminous at 10 kg per 10 sq metre with machanical sprayer complete all as specified and as directed by Engineer-in-charge.
4Material and labour for providing and laying Premix Bituminous macadam of consolidated thickness 35 mm to 70 mm, using paving bitumen binder of grade VG-30 @ and binder content of 4% by weight of total mix, Mixing of aggregates and VG-30 bitumen in electronic operated 100-120 TPH batch type hot mix plant, transporting the hot mix from HMP to work site by tippers and laying with hydrostatic paver finisher (Paver shall not be compulsory in case of patch work using B.M.) and as per approved mix, rolled & compacted to required camber and gradient with 8 to 12 tonne smooth wheeled, vibratory and tandem roller, complete all as per Clause 504 MoRTH (5th Rev) specification complete all as specified and as directed by Engineer-in-Charge. Notes : 1.The contractor shall quote the rate against Item considering 4% VG-30 bitumen content. Job Mix Formula as per CI. No. 505.3.3 of MORTH (5th Rev) for BM shall be worked out from Thapar Insti. of Engg & Tech Patiala/ PEC Chandigarh/ Command Test Lab / Maharaja Ranjit Singh Tech University Bathinda for obtaining optimum binder content (OBC) by the Contractor without any financial effect to the Dept and same be submitted to Garrison Engineer for approval. Any variation in binder content on minus side shall be adjusted @ Rs 50/kg of binder and no adjustment shall be made on plus side.2. The BM shall be covered with top layer/wearing course within in a maximum of 48 hours. If ther is to be any delay, by the contractor the course shall be covered by seal coat to the requirement of Clause 512 of MORTH (5th Rev) before opening to the traffic. The seal coat in such cases shall be considered incidental to the work and shall not be paid for separately.
5Material and labour for preparing existing black top surface by brushing with wire brushed for removing caked mud etc sweeping with brooms and finally fanning to cleaned surface with gunny bags to remove all loose dirt etc from black top surface and applying evenly a premix /tack coat of bitumen grade VG-10 @ 5.0 Kg per ten Sqm manually or with mechanical sprayer complete all as specified and as directed by Engineer-in-Charge.
6Material and labour for providing and laying Premix Bituminous semi dense asphaltic concrete 30mm consolidated thickness with 5.5% binder (paving bitumen of grade VG-30) content by weight of total mix and mixing the crushed aggregates of grading 2 with VG-30 bitumen in electronic operated 100-120 TPH batch type hot mix plant, transporting the hot mix from HMP to work site by tippers and laying with hyrdostatic paver finisher and as per approved mix and rolled & compacted to required camber and gradient with 8 to 12 tonne smooth wheeled, vibratory and tandem roller, complete all as per Clause 507 MORTH (5th Rev) specification and as specified and as directed by Engineer-in-Charge.
7Notes:- (i). The contractor shall quotes the rate against Item considering 5.5% VG-30 bitumen content. Job Mix Formula as per CIause. No. 505.3.3 of MORTH (5th Rev) for BC shall be worked out from Thapar Insti. of Engg & Tech Patiala/ PEC Chandigarh/ Command Test Lab / Maharaja Ranjit Singh Tech University, Bathinda for obtaining Optimum Binder Content (OBC) by the Contractor without any financial effect to the Dept and same be submitted to the Garrison Engineer for approval. Cost of filler i.e. cement (Ordinary portland cement/OPC) is deemed to be included in quoted unit rate.(iii). After spreading of mix as per clause 507.4.7 entire surface during the operation shall be rolled with road roller 8-10 tonne (smooth wheeled) followed with vibratory road roller of 8-10 tonne static weight, followed by finished rolling with 6 to 8 tonne smooth wheel tendom roller as per Clause Nos. 507.4.8 and cost of the same is deemed to be included in quoted unit rate.
8(iv) The vintage of the T&P (Hot mix plant/road roller i.e. vibratory roller, static roller, hydraulic roller/paver) should not be more than 10 years except the tippers and shall be approved by GE before date of commencement of the work.(v) The certificate wrt the capacity of the hot mix plant (HMP) shall be 100-120 TPH and the plant shall be electronic operated, batch type and location be intimated and the same shall be approved by GE before date of commencement of the work.(vi) The distance of the HMP shall not be more than 100 KM from the Mil Stn Patiala, Detail of plant to be submitted to GE for approval before date of commencement of the work.(vii) The calibration certificate for HMP shall be submitted by the contractor for approval of GE before date of commencement of the work which should not be more than 6 months old.(viii) The minimum 2 Road roller each (vibrating and static road roller) are required at site before commencement of the work on the ground and the same shall be approved by GE before date of commencement of the work.(ix) Aggregates retrieved from dismantling of existing pavement shall not be used in top carpetting layer.
9Material and labour for preparing bituminous surfaces of road and applying road marking paint 2.5 mm thick width n exc. 15 cm with hot applied thermoplastic road marking paint like stop lines, dashes, arrows etc of approved colour conforming to BS 3262-1989 with 20% glass beads (intermixed) spread and laid by automatic mechanical machine engine at approx temprature of 160 degree celcius with special applicator machine all as per manufacturer's instructions complete all as specified and as directed by Engineer-in-charge.
10Supply and fixing metal tubular dealineator made out of ABS round body fitted with 2 Nos 65 mm dia highly reflective reflectors made out of PMMA and mounted on 45/50 mm dia mild steel pipe of 600 mm height duly powder coated and thermo plastic elastomer 3 bands of green, red and yellow reflector radium tape of 25 mm wide strips with anti theft steel net for reflector protection and embedding in PCC 1:2:4 (150x150x300mm) type B1 including dismantling the existing u/s delinators complete all as specified and as directed by Engineer-in-charge.
11Supply and fixing cat eye solar reflective type of metal body alloy of size 100mm x 100mm x 20mm with PAMA striplens reflector of model No. DA 972.0 fixed with and including MS stud of suitable size as per manufactures instructions and dismantling the existing u/s cat eyes complete all as specified and as directed by Engineer-in-charge.
12Supply and fixing solar aluminum alloy studs (100% water proofing design) of size 125mm x 125mm x 25mm (shank 65mm) of high efficiency Mono rystafie solar panel 2.4V/ 0.3 watt one NI-Mh rechargeable battery (1.2V/ 1600MA) consisting of super bright LED with 10,000 to 18,000 mcd completed as per manufactures instructions etc.including dismantling the existing u/s solar stud complete all as specified and as directed by Engineer-in-charge.
13Supply and fixing in repair convex mirror of dia 80 cm with complete fixing arrangement as per manufacturer instructions including embedding of mild steel post in PCC 1:2:4 (150x150x300mm) type B1 complete all as specified and as directed by Engineer-in-charge.
14Supply and fixing swift rubber strip of dimenssion 500mm x 100mm x 15mm of colour yellow / black conbination for load bearing capacity 60 tonne and fixed on roads with adhesive & Zinc plated nails etc as recommended by the manufacturers complete including dismantling the existing u/s speed bumps complete all as specified and as directed by Engineer-in-charge.
15Manufacturing, supplying and fixing Retroreflective regulatory sign board of size 900 mm dia meter made out of 2 mm thick aluminium sheet, face to be fully covered with high intensity encapsulated lens type retro -reflective sheeting as approved by Engineer-in-charge . Letter, symbols, borders etc. will be as per IRC - 67 with required colour scheme on the boards and with the high intensity grade A. The aluminium sheet to be riveted to M.S. frame of angle iron of size 40x40x4 mm. The boards will be fixed to 1 No. 50x50 mm square post made of M.S. angle 50x50x4 mm, 4 m long welded to the frame with adequate anti-theft arrangement .Sheet work to be painted with two or more coats of synthetic enamel paint over an under coat (primer) and back side of aluminium sheet to be painted with two or more coats of epoxy paint including appropriate priming coat complete in all respects all as directed by Engineer-in-charge.
16Surface excavation n. exc (not exceeding) 30 cm deep and averaging 15 cm deep and getting out in any type of soil complete all as specified and as directed by Engineer-in-charge.
17Returning, filling in soil including spreading, leveling, watering and well ramming in layers not exceeding 25cm thick each layer complete all as specified and as directed by Engineer-in-charge.Note : Excavated Soil will be used for filling side of roads
18Material and labour for Hardcore of broken stone or boulders of guage exc 63 mm but n exc. 100 mm, deposited, spread and levelled in layers n exc. 15 cm thick, watered and rolled/rammed to a true surface complete all as specified and as directed by Engineer-in-charge.
19Material and labour for 100 mm thick plain cement concrete type D-2, 1:4:8 ( using 40mm graded stone aggregate) as in sub floor, sub-bases, floor and paving etc complete all as specified and as directed by Engineer-in-charge.
20Material and labour for provding and laying 80mm thick factory made chamfered edge cement concrte paver block of M-30 grade with approved colour design and pattern as in footpath parks lawns drive ways or light traffic parking etc of required strength, thickness & size/ shape, made by table vibratory method using PU mould, laid in required colour & pattern over and including 50mm thick compacted bed of coarse sand compacting and proper embedding/ laying of inter locking paver block into sand bedding layer through vibratory compaction by using plate vibrator, filling the joints with fine sand and cutting of paver block as per required size and pattern finishing and sweeping extra sand complete all as specified and as directed by Engineer-in-Charge.
21Removal of surplus excavated material soil/spoil to a distance exceeding 250m but not exceeding 500m including debris lying at site and depositing where directed at a level not exceeding 1.5 metre above the starting point complete all as specified and as directed by Engineer-in-charge.
22Material and labour for providing and laying at or near ground level factory made kerb stone of M-25 grade cement concrete in position to the required line, level and curvature, jointed with cement mortar 1:3 (1 cement: 3 coarse sand), including making joints with or without grooves (thickness of joints except at sharp curve shall not to more than 5 mm), including making drainage opening wherever required complete all as specified and as directed by Engineer-in-charge.
