Name of Work:- Demolition of Over Head Tank in UPHDA Plan 9, Lodhi Vihar
Sl. No. Item Description
1Providing, erecting and maintaining temporary scaffolding / working platform around the tank and staging at all levels using MS pipes, Cuplock system or bamboo scaffolding as approved by EIC, with safety nets, warning flags, barricading tape, hard barricades and watchmen posting for the entire duration of demolition works. Scaffolding to be designed for safe access and material lowering at all heights from ground to top of tank (total height approx. 24m). Rate includes erection, daily inspection, maintenance and dismantling after completion.[For 250 KL OHT with 16m staging — perimeter approx. 80m; full height 24m]
2Draining, cleaning and making the overhead tank safe before commencing demolition work including: (i) closing all inlet/outlet/washout sluice valves, (ii) discharging all residual water through washout pipe to drain, (iii) cleaning interior of tank of sludge and deposited material, (iv) ventilating tank for minimum 24 hours before any worker enters, (v) gas testing for H2S, CO, O2 and LEL before confined space entry, (vi) obtaining written Permit-to-Work for confined space entry as per Factory Act. Disposal of sludge within 100m lead.[Confined space entry mandatory permit per IS 16138:2013]
3Providing, erecting and maintaining road barricading with GI pipe framework, safety warning boards and night-warning lights to safeguard traffic and public, including removal after completion of work. The barricade shall be placed at minimum 10m radius around the structure. Rate includes erection, daily maintenance, illumination and final removal.[Perimeter barricading: 200m length × full duration]
4Appointing and deploying qualified Safety Officer for the entire duration of demolition works as per BOCW Act 1996 and National Building Code Part-7. Safety officer shall conduct daily toolbox talks, maintain permit-to-work register, inspect scaffolding and lifting equipment daily, and submit weekly safety report to EIC. Rate is per month inclusive of all allowances.[Mandatory for elevated structure demolition exceeding 7.5m — NBC Part-7]
5Providing and maintaining crane / mobile equipment for safe lowering of demolished heavy RCC pieces, cut bars, CI/MS pipes, valves and other heavy items from height to ground level, including operator, fuel and all equipment charges. Crane of adequate lifting capacity (minimum 5T SWL at 10m radius) complying with IS 3938. Rate per day.[Required for safe lowering of tank dome segments, conical bottom pieces and heavy members from RL+24m]
6Dismantling of GI / MS pipe (all sizes) in the staging including inlet main, overflow, washout and vent pipes including cutting, removal of pipe clamps and supports, lowering to ground, stacking within 50m. All dismantled pipes to be handed over to the department store. Rate per RM of pipe (all diameters up to 300mm).[Pipes in staging: inlet 200mm, outlet 200mm, overflow 150mm, washout 100mm = 4 runs × 16m + tank level = approx 80 RM]
7Dismantling of CI / DI flanged sluice valves (all sizes) including removal of bolts, nuts, rubber insertions, lowering to ground level, cleaning and stacking within 50m for handing over to department store. Rate per valve (each).[Inlet 200mm: 1 No. | Outlet 200mm: 1 No. | Washout 100mm: 2 Nos. | Isolation at ground: 2 Nos. | Float valve in tank: 1 No. = 7 Nos. total + 1 spare = 8 Nos.]
8Dismantling of CI manhole frame and cover (600mm clear opening) including removal of bolts, cover lifting, cleaning and stacking within 50m for handing over to department store. Rate per set (frame + cover).[Top access manhole: 1 Set | Bottom ring beam manhole: 1 Set = 2 Sets]
9Dismantling of MS/GI staircase (open riser type with landing) including side stringers, treads, handrail, safety cage around vertical ladder and all fixings, cutting brackets from embedded anchors in RCC staging columns, lowering to ground, stacking within 50m and handing over to department. Rate per running metre of staircase/ladder height.[External staircase/ladder on staging: 16m vertical + top dome access = 20m run]
10Dismantling of CI/GI vent pipe with cowl at top of dome, bird-proof mesh, pipe clamps and all accessories. Lower to ground and hand over to department store. Rate per metre of vent pipe.[Vent pipe on top dome: 1.5m above dome + inside tank to dome soffit = 3.0m]
11Dismantling of CI altitude valve / ball cock float mechanism, pressure gauge, sample tap and all minor fittings inside the tank. Lower all fittings to ground, clean and hand over to department store. Rate as lump sum.[Minor fittings: altitude valve 1 No. + float valve assembly 1 No. + pressure gauge 1 No. + sample tap 2 Nos.]
12Dismantling reinforced cement concrete work manually or by mechanical means (jack hammer / pneumatic tools / hydraulic breaker as approved by EIC) — Top dome shell 115mm thick M30 IS 3370 spherical dome. Work includes cutting reinforcement bars, lowering RCC pieces to ground using crane, keeping all salvageable reinforcement bars (cut from RCC) in separate stacks for handing over to department. Rate per cum of RCC dismantled.[D_int=8.5m, rise=1.5m, shell t=115mm: V=7.3m3 → adopt 8 m3][Sequence: Top dome dismantled FIRST; work outward from crown]
13Dismantling reinforced cement concrete work manually or by mechanical means — Cylindrical wall of tank 150mm thick M30 IS 3370. Work includes cutting ring bars and vertical bars, lowering RCC panels to ground, stacking recovered steel bars. Rate per cum of RCC dismantled.[D=8.5m, t=0.15m, H_cyl=4.0m: V=16.0m3 → adopt 17 m3][Sequence: Dismantled AFTER top dome; cut in horizontal strips from top downward]
14Dismantling reinforced cement concrete work — Top ring beam 300mm wide × 600mm deep M30 at junction of cylindrical wall and top dome. Rate per cum.[π×8.5×0.30×0.60: V=4.8m3 → adopt 5 m3]
15Dismantling reinforced cement concrete work — Conical (Intze) bottom shell 250mm thick M30. Work includes cutting from bottom ring beam junction, lowering conical panels to ground using crane, stacking recovered bars. 24Stacking of useful dismantled material (recovered broken RCC pieces suitable for road sub-base / hardcore, clean aggregate etc.) within a lead of 50m including sorting, cleaning and orderly stacking as directed by EIC. 25Disposal of surplus malba / RCC rubble debris by mechanical means (tipper / dumper) including loading by mechanical means (poclain/excavator), disposal within a lead of 50m. Rate per cum of loose debris.[Total RCC dismantled: 152.9 m3 × 1.8 swell = 275 m3. Less stacked for reuse 25 m3 = 250 m3 to dispose → adopt 250 cum]
26Transportation of surplus debris / malba by tippers (7 cubic metre capacity) from site to approved dumping ground beyond 50m lead. Rate per trip per km.[250 cum / 7 cum per trip = 36 trips. Distance to dumping site = 5 km (assumed) → 36 trips × 5 km = 180 trip-km][NOTE: Quantity = number of trips. 27Cutting, sorting and bundling of recovered steel bars / reinforcement (Fe-415/Fe-500) from dismantled RCC including straightening of bent bars where practicable, tying into bundles of maximum 50kg, tagging with dia and approx length, stacking in designated yard within 50m lead. Rate per MT of recovered steel sorted and stacked.[Total estimated recovery: Container 7.85 + Staging 3.98 + Foundation 8.68 = 20.5 MT → adopt 20 MT (subject to actual measurement)]
28Cleaning and restoration of the demolition site to original ground level including removal of all remaining debris, malba and concrete fragments from the site; clearing scrub/weeds grown around structure; levelling the pit area with available earth after raft demolition; final cleaning of site ready for inspection by EIC. Rate as lump sum.[Site area including staging footprint and working space: approx 400 sqm]
29Photography and video documentation of demolition work at all stages including before, during and after demolition; pre-demolition condition survey and photography; photographic record for each structural member as dismantled; submission of documented album (soft copy + 2 hard copies) to EIC with date/time stamps.[Required for audit and dispute prevention]
30Handing over of all salvaged materials (CI pipes, MS staircase, CI valves, CI manholes, CI vent pipe, recovered steel bars, serviceable RCC aggregate) to department stores including preparation of inventory list (item-wise with dimensions, weight and condition) countersigned by EIC and department store keeper.[Documentation + weighment charges at weigh bridge + lorry receipt for steel: 1 LS]
31Final inspection, certification and removal of all temporary works including: (i) dismantling and clearing scaffolding, (ii) removing barricades, (iii) disconnecting and removing temporary power supply, (iv) restoring road / footpath surface to original condition where disturbed during work, (v) submission of as-demolished record and completion report. Rate as lump sum.
