Connector termination shall include crimping using the manufacturer-recommended tools, assembly to achieve the specified IP67 degree of protection, and verification of contact integrity, polarity and continuity.The item shall include all necessary connectors, glands, ferrules, tags, clamps, consumables, tools, tackles, accessories and labour, complete in accordance with the approved drawings, detailed specifications and directions of the Engineer-in-Charge. (Refer Section V, Clause 9.5) Note: The PV connectors used at each mating interface shall be of the same manufacturer, type, model and contact system. Connectors of different makes or models shall not be intermated, even where they are commonly described as “MC4-compatible.”Where the factory-fitted connector at the PV string end is not compatible with the connector provided on the outgoing DC cable or PV string protection and isolation box, the string-end connector shall be removed and reterminated using a matching connector of the same make and model as its mating counterpart. Retermination shall be carried out only where permitted by the PV module manufacturer, using the connector manufacturer’s specified stripping and crimping tools, contacts, torque requirements and assembly procedure.The completed connection shall be checked for correct polarity, crimp integrity, contact resistance, mechanical locking and the specified degree of ingress protection. Mixing of male and female connectors from different manufacturers, series or models shall not be permitted. |

Screen of suitable material shall be provided to the full height of scaffolding and securely tied to protect falling objects coming out during the work is in progress. 6. Necessary aluminium / M.S. ladder shall be provided at the cost of the contractor, to the full height of scaffolding at required location around the building to enable Departmental Supervisor/Engineer climb up and closely watch the repair work of the building. |
