4Material and labour for preparation of new steel and iron surfaces of any description, not otherwise described, exceeding 10 cm in width or girth, including cleaning the surface free from dust, dirt, grease, oil and other foreign matter and surface imperfections by rubbing down with emery paper/sand paper or by other approved means to obtain a clean, smooth and even surface and further applying one coat of red oxide zinc chromate primer and two coats of first-quality synthetic enamel paint of approved brand, shade and tint, each coat applied by brush only after proper preparation and complete drying of the preceding coat, to produce a smooth, uniform, durable and aesthetically acceptable finish, complete in all respects as specified and directed by the Engineer-in-Charge.

7Material and labour for reinforced cement concrete (1:2:4) (nominal mix) type B-1 using 20mm graded stone aggregate as in columns, pillars, piers, posts and struts and the like complete all as specified and as directed.(NOTE : Reinforcement and form work shall be measured and paid for separately under appropriate item of BOQ.
8Form work to sides of concrete foundations, footings, bases of columns, raft and raft beams, sides and soffits of foundation and plinth beams and similar work vertical or to better rough finished flat complete all as specified & directed by Engineer-in- charge.

10Material and labour for mild steel TMT bars, grade Fe 500D/550D, 10mm dia & over cut to length bent to shape, required including cranking, bending spirally for hoping for columns, hooking ends and binding with mild steel wire (annealed) not less than 0.9mm dia complete all as specified and as directed.(NOTE : Weight of binding wire shall not be considered for measurement and payment purpose.)
11Demolition of cement concrete (unreinforced) in ground floor and paving not exceeding 15cm thickness below or above ground level of any description and in any position and including disposal of rubbish material to any distance out side MOD land complete all as specified and as directed.
12Dismantling of interlocking tile/paver block/brick/chequered tile etc including kerb stone (laid flat or on edge etc) laid dry or pointed complete all as specified and as directed.
13Material and labour for hard core of broken stone or boulders of gauge not exceeding 63mm, deposited, spread and levelled in layers not exceeding 15cm thick, watered and rammed to a true surface complete all as specified & directed by Engineer-in- charge.
14Material and labour for 75 mm thick PCC (1:3:6) type C-2 using 40mm graded mechanically crushed stone aggregate as in plinth protection finished even and smooth without using extra cement complete all as specified and as directed
15Material and labour for PCC (1:2:4), type B-1 using 20 mm graded stone aggregate as in surface channels, benching/coping of manholes/drains, coping, mud stops, packing sides/around of interlocking tiles, kerbs, bed block, cills, thrust block, for embedded posts & similar work etc at ground and normal height including weatherings, slightly rounded or chamfered angles and including necessary form work as required etc. complete all as specified and as directed.
16Material and labour for PCC ( 1:4:8), type D-2 using 40 mm graded stone aggregate as in foundation filling and mass concrete complete all as specified and as directed
17Material and labour for 75mm thick cement concrete ( 1:4:8), type D-2 using 40 mm graded stone aggregate as in sub base complete all as specified and as directed.
18Material and labour for providing and laying chequered cement concrete tiles of size 300mm × 300mm × 25mm thick, manufactured by the table vibratory method using PU/rubber moulds, made from cement, graded aggregates, grey cement with approved mineral pigments, having approved pattern and texture, laid as in floors, footpaths, walkways and similar locations. The tiles shall be laid true to line, level and required slope, set and jointed in neat cement slurry at the rate of 3.00 kg per square metre, over the prepared bed/sub base (sub base bed measured and paid separately), filling joints with white/grey cement mixed with matching pigment, complete in all respects, as specified and directed by the Engineer-in-Charge.
19Material and labour for providing and laying chequered cement concrete tiles of size 400mm × 400mm × 25mm thick, manufactured by the table vibratory method using PU/rubber moulds, made from cement, graded aggregates, grey cement with approved mineral pigments, having approved pattern and texture, laid as in floors, footpaths, walkways and similar locations. The tiles shall be laid true to line, level and required slope, set and jointed in neat cement slurry at the rate of 3.00 kg per square metre, over the prepared bed/sub base (sub base bed measured and paid separately), filling joints with white/grey cement mixed with matching pigment, complete in all respects, as specified and directed by the Engineer-in-Charge.

21Supply and laying/fixing 80mm thick factory made chamfered edge cement concrete paver block/ interlocking tile of M-40 grade, prepolished & preglazed, with approved colour, design & pattern (laid in required colour & pattern as directed) as in footparth, parks, lawns, drive ways or light traffic parking etc., of required strength, thickness & size/ shape, made by table vibratory method using PU mould, laid in required colour & pattern over and including 30mm thick compacted bed of fine sand, compacting and proper embedding/ laying of inter locking paver blocks into the sand bedding layer through vibratory compaction by using plate vibrator, filling the joints with sand, finishing and sweeping extra sand complete all as specified and as directed.
22Material and labour for Dismantling/taking out old paver block/ interlocking tile of any description and in any position, making surface leveled as per site requirement and refixing/laying the same over and including 30mm thick compacted bed of coarse sand, compacting and proper embedding/ laying of inter locking paver blocks into the sand bedding layer through vibratory compaction by using plate vibrator, filling the joints with sand, finishing and sweeping extra sand complete all as specified and as directed.
23Material and labour for renewing tiles in patches, area n exc 5 sq.m. including removing and cleaning old tiles, preparing beds and laying or setting, jointing and pointing new or old tiles, complete in all respects as specified and directed by the Engineer-in-Charge.
24Material and labour for providing and laying an average 15 mm thick bedding/screed layer in cement mortar (1:6) in grey cement, making up levels, filling depressions, for minor variations in thickness as required to achieve the finished floor level after removal of existing tiles, finishing the screed true to line, level and slope with a rough finish suitable to receive tile adhesive or cement slurry, complete all as specified and directed by the Engineer-in-Charge.
25Material and labour for repairs to existing steel gates/doors of any type fixed to masonry/RCC pillars, walls, fencing posts or other structural supports, having an opening area not exceeding 20.00 Sqm, irrespective of whether single-leaf or double-leaf, by carrying out minor repairs through welding to hinges, handles, sliding bolts, guide rails/running rails, stoppers, locking arrangements and other connected steel members. The work shall include adjustment, alignment, straightening (where required), easing for smooth opening and closing, tightening of nuts, bolts and fasteners, replacement of minor steel components, hinges, nuts, bolts, washers and other consumables wherever required, oiling and greasing of ball bearings, hinges and all other moving parts, cleaning and servicing of locking mechanisms, and ensuring smooth, safe and proper operation of the gate/door after completion of repairs, complete all as specified and directed by the Engineer-in-Charge.Note: The quoted unit rate shall be deemed to include all labour, tool and plant, consumable material and all incidental works necessary to complete the repairs.
26Dismantling iron or mild steel work of any description not otherwise provided for including doors, gates, walkways, railing, framed work, parking shed normal height etc, complete all as specified and as directed.
27Material and labour for mild steel framed work comprising grills, gratings, drain cover, walkways, railing and other similar works, etc fabricated from angles, tees, square bar, expanded metals or other rolled steel sections, round bars, stiffeners and other connecting plates, conforming to Grade 290.Gde-E-165. The work shall include cutting, bending, notching, coping, drilling, punching, shaping, edge preparation, welding, grinding of welds, fabrication, shop assembly, transportation, erection, alignment and fixing in position with approved holding-down bolts, anchor fasteners, nuts, bolts, washers and all necessary fixing accessories. The item shall include all labour, materials, welding electrodes, gas cutting, scaffolding, staging, lifting arrangements, tools and plant, consumables, safety measures and all incidental works necessary for satisfactory completion of the work at all locations, complete in all respects, as specified and directed by the Engineer-in-Charge.
28Material and labour for mild steel framed structural work comprising angle iron vertical posts, columns, main beams, cross beams, rafters, purlins, bracings, tie members, frames for sunshades/chajjas, parking sheds, canopies, platforms, walkways, steel gate and other similar works, fabricated from rolled mild steel joists, channels, angles, tees or other rolled steel sections, together with gusset plates, base plates, cleat plates, rails, braces, round bars, stiffeners and other connecting plates, conforming to Grade Fe-410-W (Grade E-250 Quality A). The work shall include cutting, bending, notching, coping, drilling, punching, shaping, edge preparation, welding, grinding of welds, fabrication, shop assembly, transportation, erection, alignment, plumbing and fixing in position with approved holding-down bolts, anchor fasteners, nuts, bolts, washers and all necessary fixing accessories. The item shall include all labour, materials, welding electrodes, gas cutting, scaffolding, staging, lifting arrangements, tools and plant, consumables, safety measures and all incidental works necessary for satisfactory completion of the work at all locations up to a height of 5.00 metres above the existing ground level or any accessible roof, floor, platform or balcony level, complete in all respects, as specified and directed by the Engineer-in-Charge.
29Supply and fixing of MS plate, plain or chequered, conforming to Fe 410-W (Grade E-250), Quality ‘A’, suitable for covering/strengthening of existing steel doors, gates, channels and other steelwork, including cutting to required size and shape, square cutting/notching, forming ordinary and countersunk holes, drilling, welding wherever required, fitting and fixing in position with suitable welding electrodes, bolts, nuts, washers and other necessary fixing materials, complete in all respects as specified and directed by the Engineer-in-Charge.
30Material and labour for providing and fixing Stainless Steel work (Grade 304) comprising railings, gates, handrails, balustrades, grills and similar fabricated works, manufactured from stainless steel hollow circular, square or rectangular tubes, channels, angles, flats, plates, knobs, caps and other required sections of approved size and thickness.The work shall include cutting, bending, curving, notching, drilling, punching, shaping, welding by TIG/MIG process, grinding, dressing of welds, buffing, all exposed stainless steel surfaces shall have a No. 4 Satin Finish or Mirror Finish, fabrication, shop assembly, transportation and fixing in position with approved stainless steel nuts, bolts, screws, washers, dash fasteners, anchor fasteners, hinges, locking arrangements, handles, stoppers, tower bolts, sliding door bolts, stay holders, guide brackets, base plates, cover plates and all other necessary stainless steel fittings and accessories, complete in all respects, as specified and directed by the Engineer-in-Charge.Notes:(i) Measurement for payment shall be made in Kilograms (kg) based on the actual weight of stainless steel work fixed in position.(ii) The weight of the stainless steel sections or complete fabricated gate/railing shall be physically ascertained by a Board of Officers (BOO) constituted by the Garrison Engineer before incorporation in the work, and payment shall be made on the basis of the actual weight so determined.
31Excavation in trenches (Manual), not exceeding 1.5m wide and not exceeding 1.5m in depth for foundations of shafts, wells, cess pits, manholes, pipe line, cable in trenches etc., not exceeding 10 Sqm on plan and getting out in any type of soft including trimming the sides and forming bottom surfaces to required levels complete all as specified and as directed.
32Returning, filling including spreading, leveling watering and well ramming in layers not exceeding 25cm thick in soft/loose soil complete all as specified and as directed.
33Removing excavated material (surplus soil) to a distance not exceeding 50 m and depositing where directed at a level not exceeding 1.5 metre above the starting point complete all as specified and as directed.
34Dismantling chain link/wire mesh fencing of any type and thickness including flat iron and line wires/round bars complete all as specified and as directed by Engineer-in-Charge.
35Dismantling galvanized steel barbed wire fencing comprising any number of strands of galvanized steel barbed wire fixed horizontally, vertically or diagonally to swan necks (Y-type horns), angle iron posts, tubular posts, rails, poles or any other supporting members, including cutting binding wires, removing G.I. staples, steel pins, clips and other fixing accessories, lowering carefully without damage as far as practicable, and removing complete with all rubbish and debris arising out of the dismantling operation, complete in all respects, as specified and directed by the Engineer-in-Charge.Notes:(i) Measurement for payment shall be made in 100 RM for each individual line of barbed wire actually dismantled. Each individual line of barbed wire shall be treated as one unit of measurement, irrespective of the number of stranded line wires forming that line.(ii) Each horizontal, vertical or diagonal line shall be measured separately between the centre lines of end supports. No separate measurement or payment shall be admissible for laps, joints, cutting, untying, removal of binding wire, staples, clips, steel pins or other fixing accessories.
36Dismantling of post or struts (RCC) any section incl taking out embeded portion and making good disturbed ground embeded in concrete, complete all as specified and as directed.
37Excavation in post holes in soft/loose soil n. exc 0.50 cum each, getting out, returning filling in and ramming earth or broken rubble mixed with earth around, in layers n. exc 25 cm including removing of surplus spoil to a distance n exc 50 mtr and making good the disturbed surfaces all as specified and directed by Engineer-in-Charge.
38Material and labour for mild steel fencing work comprising angle iron fencing posts, end posts, corner posts, struts, intermediate posts, stays, braces, flat iron fillets, cleats and other ancillary members, fabricated from steel conforming to Grade Fe-290 (Grade E-165), complete with provision of swan neck (Y-type horn) where directed for barbed wire/security wire. The work shall include cutting, bending, notching, drilling holes for fixing barbed wire, chain link wire mesh, cutting and shaping tops, welding, riveting, bolting, grinding of welds, fabrication, shop assembly, transportation and erection in true line, level and plumb, complete all as specified and directed by the Engineer-in-Charge.Notes: (i) Measurement for payment shall be made in Kilograms (kg) based on the actual weight of mild steel work fixed in position.(ii) Cement concrete foundations, excavation, backfilling and disposal of surplus excavated earth and painting work shall be measured and paid separately under respective item of BOQ.
39Supply and fixing galvanized steel barbed wire fencing comprising two strands of galvanized steel line wire of 2.24mm diameter, barbed with 2.00mm diameter galvanized steel point wire having barbs at 75mm centres, conforming to the relevant Indian Standards, stretched taut and securely fixed to swan necks (Y-type horns), angle iron posts, tubular posts, rails, poles or any other supporting members, laid horizontally, vertically or diagonally, as directed. The work shall include straining the wire to the required tension, lapping where necessary, securing the wire with galvanized iron binding wire, G.I. staples, steel pins, clips or approved fixing accessories at all supports and intersections, tying at crossings wherever directed, maintaining proper alignment and uniform spacing, and all cutting, jointing, complete in all respects, as specified and directed by the Engineer-in-Charge.Notes: (i) Measurement for payment shall be made in 100 RM for each individual line of barbed wire actually fixed in position. One line consisting of two stranded line wires with barbs shall be treated as one unit of measurement.(ii) Each horizontal, vertical or diagonal line shall be measured separately between the centre lines of end supports. Laps required for proper jointing, binding wire, staples, clips, steel pins and other fixing accessories shall be deemed to be included in the quoted unit rate. No separate payment shall be admissible on this account.
40Restraining, resecuring and stretching taut only of existing galvanized steel barbed wire fencing fixed to swan necks (Y-type horns), angle iron posts, tubular posts, rails, poles or any other supporting members, laid horizontally, vertically or diagonally in any position, including tightening the existing barbed wire to restore the required tension, refixing loose wires, replacing damaged or missing galvanized iron binding wire, G.I. staples, steel pins, clips and other minor fixing accessories as required, including taking down and refixing the existing barbed wire wherever necessary for proper alignment and tensioning, complete in all respects, as specified and directed by the Engineer-in-Charge.Notes: (i) Measurement for payment shall be made in 100 RM for each individual line of barbed wire actually restrained, resecured, stretched taut or refixed. Each individual line of barbed wire shall be treated as one unit of measurement, irrespective of the number of stranded line wires forming that line.(ii) Each horizontal, vertical or diagonal line shall be measured separately between the centre lines of the end supports. The quoted unit rate shall be deemed to include taking down and refixing wherever required, tightening, restraining, replacement of galvanized iron binding wire, G.I. staples, steel pins, clips and other minor fixing accessories, cutting, jointing, lapping, labour, tools and plant, and all incidental operations necessary for satisfactory completion of the work. No separate payment shall be admissible on this account.
41Supply and fixing in replacement of punched tape concertina barbed wire coil of 610 mm nominal diameter when closed, comprising 50 turns per coil and expandable/stretchable up to 6.00 m length during installation, having short barbs of 11 ± 1 mm length, steel tape of 19 mm × 0.50 mm thickness with hardness of 137 to 187 VPN, and approximate coil weight of 8.50 kg ± 5%, with spring/core wire of 2.60 mm diameter, complete with clips at crossings, but without handles and spikes, fixed on angle iron frame including securing or tying at crossing with and, staples or steel pins etc complete all as specified & directed.(a) Core wire shall be of cold-drawn unalloyed steel wire of 2.60 mm diameter, having minimum tensile strength of 1670 N/mm², conforming to IS 4454 (Part 1):2001, hot-dip galvanized in accordance with the practice recommended in IS 2629, with zinc coating conforming to the heavily coated hard variety specified in Table 1 of IS 4826, having minimum zinc coating weight of 230 g/m².(b) When installed and stretched, the coil shall be capable of being expanded to approximately 6.00 m length for 50 turns, while maintaining the required concertina configuration and effective anti-climb/barrier arrangement. The diameter of the coil in the installed/stretched condition shall be not less than 580 mm.
42Restraining and re-securing existing concertina coil of any size, including carefully taking down and refixing/repositioning the concertina coil wherever required, maintaining proper alignment, spacing and tension, and securing the coil horizontally in position over perimeter walls, wire-entanglement aprons, barriers, gates and other similar locations, including supply and fixing 3 mm GI staples and GI clips for securing/tied, and other minor fixing accessories, tightening and making good all existing fixing arrangements, complete in all respects as specified and directed by the Engineer-in-Charge.
43Supply only chain link mild steel galvanised fencing (woven in diamond mesh pattern) complete all as specified and as directed.Note : The weight of the chain link fencing shall be physically ascertained by a Board of Officers (BOO) constituted by the Garrison Engineer before incorporation in the work, and payment shall be made on the basis of the actual weight so determined.
44Fixing only galvanized mild steel chain link fencing of any mesh size, to angle iron posts, RCC posts, rails, flat iron fillets or any other supporting framework, including stretching the chain link fabric to the required tension, aligning and fixing in position with round bar/GI line wires (tying wires), nuts, bolts, washers, clips or other approved fixing arrangements, and including providing not less than 1.20mm diameter galvanized iron binding wire for tying and securely fastening the chain link fencing to the supporting members at the required spacing, complete in all respects, as specified and directed by the Engineer-in-Charge.Notes:(i) Supply of chain link fencing, galvanized iron line wire (tying wire)/round bars, flat iron fillets (where provided), nuts, bolts, washers shall be measured and paid for separately under the respective BOQ items.(ii) The cost of galvanized iron binding wire, including cutting, tying and securing the chain link fencing to the supporting framework, shall be deemed to be included in the quoted unit rate. No separate payment shall be admissible on this account.
45Fixing only old galvanized mild steel chain link fencing obtained from dismantling of any mesh size, to angle iron posts, RCC posts, rails, flat iron fillets or any other supporting framework, including stretching the chain link fabric to the required tension, aligning and fixing in position with round bar/GI line wires (tying wires), nuts, bolts, washers, clips or other approved fixing arrangements, and including providing not less than 1.20mm diameter galvanized iron binding wire for tying and securely fastening the chain link fencing to the supporting members at the required spacing, complete in all respects, as specified and directed by the Engineer-in-Charge.Notes:(i) The cost of galvanized iron binding wire, including cutting, tying and securing the chain link fencing to the supporting framework, shall be deemed to be included in the quoted unit rate. No separate payment shall be admissible on this account.
46Supply only mild steel screw bolt (machine made) with hexagonal or square heads at one end and screwed the other, or screwed both ends, each screwed end to be fitted with washers and one hexagonal or square nut, length of bolt exceeding 5cm but not exceeding 10cm, and Diameter of neck 11 to 15 mm as complete all as specified and as directed.
47Supply only round or square bars as line wire (for tying) Fe410 -W (Gde-E-250) quality -A complete all as specified and as directed.
