The system should trip the motor on power fallure and on appearance of an electrical fault mentioned below which may otherwise damage the motor field coils and should not restart automatically until unless the system is reset manually, thus providing automation to the system and protection to the motor. The system /star delta auto starter should not fall into delta if it does not fall into star mode first and should remain de-energized to avoid damage to the motor / machinery and also to the power source/transformer. The system / star delta auto starter should trip off if it does not fall into delta & remains in star mode for more than 10-20 seconds. The system shall provide protection against:-Low voltage below 350 V. High Voltage above 450 V, Single phasing, Reverse phasing, Un Balanced phasing, Dry running, Overloading. The LT control panel should also include p/f of visual information panel to help the operator understand the operation and a quick diagnosis of the appearing fault/status. A visual information panel should be provided with following features:-(1) Phase indicator lamps LED type.(ii) Separate fault/status indicators like low voltage, high voltage, correct voltage, phase failure, incorrect phase sequence & unbalanced voltages.(iii) An LED guide indicator to help setting the current of all three phases.(iv) 03 nos. LED coil ok indicators for contactor electromagnetic coil status of main, delta and star contactor showing whether the coils are healthy or damaged.( v) An isolation bye pass system with blinking indicator.(vi) A A foolproof double snap starting system.An audio warning system/Siren which activates only on starter failure to trip the motor on appearance of any electrical fault mentioned above, to wam the operator to switch off the motor manually.
