| 88 | Rehabilitation of existing damaged asphalt pavement by Cold In-Place Recycling (CIPR) process, using foamed bitumen as binder and cement as filler, as per IRC 120-2015 / IRC 37-2018: Providing a layer of fresh aggregates as per design mix by evenly pre-spreading on the exisiting damaged asphalt surface using paver or motor grader to achieve the desired gradation and profile of the road. 1% cement by weight of the mix shall be prespread on the layer of fresh aggregates using a truck-mounted automated binder spreader with micro-processor controlled weighing and spreading system. The binder spreader shall have variable working width upto 2.4m to efficiently manage the width of the whole pavement. The pre-spread fresh aggregates and cement and the existing damaged pavement shall be then pulverized and recycled in-situ up to design depth by injecting 2- 2.5% bitumen (VG30) as foamed bitumen as per design mix using a self-propelled wheeled Recycler equipment with a minimum working width of 2m or 2.4m and minimum engine horsepower of 305 kW. The Recycler equipment should have in-built automated water-spraying system and temperature-controlled foamed bitumen injection system with variable and controlled working depth of up to 500 mm. The entire in-situ recycling process shall be carried out in a single pass including milling and pulverizing of existing asphalt pavement with pre-spread aggregate and cement up to desired depth and simultaneous injection of foamed bitumen and water as per job mix design.The resultant recycled mix should be then compacted to required density using 14-20 tonne vibratory padfoot compactor as per design depth; profiled by motor grader and further compacted by smooth vibratory roller and PTR and complete in all respects as required including all materials, labor, machinery, etc. (This cold recycled surface shall be then covered with tack coat and bituminous concrete of 50mm thickness, cost of both to be accounted separately) |
