| 2 | M&L for surface preparation and application of waterproof exterior coating as follows: cleaning new/existing plastered surfaces till free from dust, grease, loose/flaking paint and other foreign matter; removal of unstable paint by high-pressure wash or scraper, as appropriate; removal of algae/fungus by high-pressure wash or coir brush and treatment with fungicidal solution; filling surface cracks up to 5 mm width with Dr. Fixit Crack-X paste or equivalent, and cracks exceeding 5 mm/separation gaps with Dr. Fixit Pidicrete URP modified mortar or equivalent, all as specified. Applying Dr. Fixit Raincoat Neo or equivalent directly from container after stirring well; applying self-priming/first coat by brush/roller on vertical/horizontal wall surface in SSD condition, diluted in the ratio of 1 litre coating with 100 ml clean potable water and allowing to dry for 4–6 hours; applying second coat undiluted as waterproof top coat of approved shade by roller/brush with coverage 3.7–4.1 sqm/litre to achieve DFT of 100–110 microns, allowing 4–6 hours drying time. Additional coat shall be applied, if required, on horizontal surfaces such as window tops, ledges, parapet walls etc., and the coating shall be allowed to air cure for 7 days, including necessary scaffolding and safety measures, complete all as specified and directed.Note: Exterior emulsion paint, wherever specified, shall be applied by mechanical sprayer through approved applicator in approved shade. |
| 3 | NOTE: PARTICULAR SPECIFICATION – STAGE PASSING FOR EXTERIOR PAINTING Stage–1: Surface Preparation and Primer ApplicationThe Contractor shall formally intimate completion of the following activities: removal of loose paint, fungal/algal deposits and efflorescence; cleaning of surfaces using wire brush, scraping tools and approved chemical wash, where recommended; filling of cracks and minor undulations using approved polymer-based crack filler; ensuring complete dryness of surfaces free from moisture ingress; and application of primer/sealant coat as per manufacturer’s technical data sheet. Inspection shall be carried out by the Engineer-in-Charge or authorised representative. Stage passing approval shall be granted by the Garrison Engineer before commencement of first coat.Stage–2: Application of First Coat / Verification ShadeThe Contractor shall apply one uniform coat of approved weather-coat anti-fungal paint. The first coat shall be in a slightly different tint, i.e. lighter/dull variant of the final shade, to enable visual verification of complete coverage. The Contractor shall request inspection and approval upon completion. No second coat shall commence without written approval of the Garrison Engineer.Stage–3: Application of Second / Final CoatAfter stage passing approval of first coat, the final coat shall be applied in the approved final shade. Minimum interval of 4–6 hours drying time, or as per manufacturer’s specification, shall be maintained between coats. Final finish shall be smooth and unifoRm, without roller marks, patchiness, sagging or visible colour variation.Stage–4: Final Inspection, Certification and Warranty SubmissionFinal inspection shall be conducted by the Engineer-in-Charge and verified by the Garrison Engineer. The Contractor shall ensure complete cleaning, removal of masking, rectification of touch-ups and disposal of empty containers as per environmental guidelines. Upon completion, the Contractor shall submit warranty and service certificate for 5 years issued by manufacturer’s authorised applicator of Asian Paints / Berger / Nerolac / Dr. Fixit or equivalent, as applicable, and certification confirming correct surface preparation, application system, drying time, coverage and compliance with manufacturer’s technical specifications. |
| 4 | M&L for writing letters or figures in black letters on white base, in Block/Roman/Italic/Indian letters, not exceeding 30 cm high, including stops, commas, short lines, dashes, hyphens and brackets, including necessary scaffolding and safety measures, complete all as specified and directed. |
| 5 | M&L for cutting down plants/trees up to 10 cm girth and applying Roundup/Glypocet or equivalent approved herbicide to roots at roof tops/sides, external walls of buildings, chajjas, wall junctions, and at junctions of rain water/CI waste water pipes, including taking out possible quantities of roots entered into wall/slab surfaces and making good the surfaces, including repairing affected GI/CI/AC/PVC pipe joints after application of herbicide.
