Supply of high grade GI Nuts , Bolts and two flat washers of suitable size for fixing of GI Strips to Earthing electrode.
Providing earthing electrode as per IS: 3043 standard / drawing / specifications with following sizes medium quality, Class-B, ITC/KT/ Jindal make GI pipe fabricated as per the standard drawing and driven in the earth pit filled up with charcoal or coke dust mixed with salt clay (salt 0.5%) including providing inspection chamber as per the drawing with removable RCC (1:2:4) cover/ CI cover hinged to CI frame, earth, excavation, back filling, masonry work etc. all complete with labour and materials as per the direction of Engineer-in-Charge. Charcoal and salt cost will be paid seperately as extra.
Job includes as following in SITC of maint. free Chemical Earth Pit, Construction of Unit Chemical Earth Pit: 1. Create a 300 mm bore up to 10 ft deep using an earth auger or another suitable method as per IS: 3043 standard / drawing / specifications. 2. Sleeve the excavated soil and remove any soil containing charcoal and salt according to the conventional scheme. 3. Replace the soil with black cotton soil or good-quality soil for the earth pit. 4. Insert the electrode at the center of the earth pit, ensuring it remains vertical. Arrange for an adequate water supply for the earth pit (approximately 600 liters). 5. Fill the pit with backfill soil (high-quality soil brought from another location) while adding earth enhancement material (carbon based/ bentonite or equivalent) around the electrode and simultaneously watering the pit. 6. Use a steel bar or pipe to poke the soil gel and stir intermittently to remove air pockets and ensure proper settlement of the pit. Repeat the procedure until the earth pit is completely filled, ensuring proper packing and sufficient watering. Compactly ram the pit and continue watering for 2-3 days, adding soil if necessary. 7. Construct an inspection chamber as per the drawing with removable RCC (1:2:4) cover/ CI cover hinged to CI frame, earth, excavation, back filling, masonry work etc. 8. Measure the earth resistance as per IS 3043:1987 code of practice in the presence of the engineer in charge. The earth resistance value should be less than 1 ohm for each individual pit. 9.Connect the pit to the existing earth grid. Painting of Earth Pit Details: After commissioning, paint the earth pit number, earth resistance values, testing dates, and due dates on each earth pit cover. Ensure that the markings are clear, distinct, and visible to the naked eye from a distance of about 1 meter. The minimum size of the markings should be 25 mm. All complete with labours and materials as per the direction of Engineer-in-Charge.

Latest Earthing Network drawing after rectification/new erth pit of concerned locations/area is to be updated & submitted to IOCL after completion of the job. |
Job includes making salt solution with 2kg of common salt(NaCl) in about 20 litres of water, removal of earth pit cover and adding the solution in pit followed by addition 20 litres of water through GI earth electrode..The solution and water is to be added slowly such that all the solution/water is absorbed by the earth. Checking of earthing pipe for any chokage. If any chockage is found the pipe is to be cleaned and is to be reinserted.
Job includes maintenance & treatment of chemical earth pit with Bentonite/Conductive concrete/Mineral conductive compound or equivalent chemical compaound as per site requirements. It is under vendor's scope to provide required chemical compound, clearing the electrode area to add the solution, and proper cleaning & finally make sure the value of indivisual pit value is less than 4 ohm.
