| 18 | (a).Surface preparation : surface to receiving flooring system shall be grinded using mosaic grinder to roughen the surface for better bonding of concrete with primer shot blasting. The surface should be grinded as required to obtain clean open porous concrete and to remove suffient material provided a sound surface, free of laitance glaze, efflorecence and any bond-inhibiting curing compounds. The surface shall be ensured that there are no grease, oil and other penetraiting contaminants as directed by the Engineer in charge.(b).Primer (200 microns thickness) : primer will be applied which shall be a two componenet, solvent free epoxy-polyamido amine system having volumetric ratio of mixing of 1:1 to yield thickness of 200 microns. Primer coats is a thin mild coating which penetrates into concrete and forms and cohesive bond. Primer provides excellent adhesion to the concrete/ cementitious substrates. Primer shall be allowed to cure for 6-7 hours as directed bythe Engineer in charge.(c). Screen (3000 micron thickness) : reed layer of minimum thickness of 3000 micros shall be applied, The self levelling screed shall be consist of a low viscous epoxy-amine cured system and graded aggregates (special silica). The epoxy screed system shall have a volumatric ratio of mixing of resin in 1:1 ratio. The aggregate shall be added in the ratio of 1:3:5 or 1:4 and will be laid on primed surface. Screed layer shall be allowed to cure for 10-12 hours as directed by the Engineer in charge.(d).Epocy top coat (2000 microns thickness) : Top coat of epoxy-Polyrathane (EPU) shall be supplied in pre-weighed packs and ready to mix and use which will consist of resin, hardner, EPI (color concentrate) and formulated aggregates to be mixed resin& harder in the pre mixture by an electrically driven motor and lay the mixture to the thickness of 2000 microns then deaerate by using spike roller and to allow to cure for minimum of 48 hours before trafficking is commenced as directed by the Engineer in chage.(e).Expantion/ Dummy/ Construction joint filling treatment : Before applicaton, the floor shall be examined for spalls, pits, holes, cracks, non-funcional joints, etc directed by the Enginner in charge. These must be treated after preparation and before application which the suitable elastomaric EPU crack fill materials. For functional or expansive joints these shall be treated with 100% solids elastomeric PU sealant having a minimum elogation of 150%. this treatment includes cut open the existing joints, removal of existing sealant/ bitumen etc and laying Polyurethane sealant in the Expansion joints & construction joints once top coat is done.(f).Demarcation : Providing and applying 6” band white/ red/ yellow/ colour directed by the Engineer in charge, making with 2 component Polyurethane based resin and hardner. |
