The minimum acceptable size of trees after pruning, with branches in normal positions, shall be a minimum height of 1.8 m and minimum caliper of 2.5 cm. Caliper measurement shall be taken at a point on the trunk 15 cm above root flare. All trees shall have terminal shoots and reasonably well-developed crown. Trees of same species shall have uniform height, structure, and spread. |

Annual maintenance: Summer, rainy and winter flowering seasonal seedlings shall be planted as directed by the Engineer- in-charge. The plants shall be watered regularly at frequency to be decided by Engineer-in-charge depending on season, plant species and soil conditions. Well rotten F.Y.M. shall be applied @ 0.508 cum per 10 sqm to winter annuals. DAP @ 20 gm per sqm shall be applied to the Summer and Winter season annuals. Urea shall be applied @ 0.4 kg per 10 sqm in three to four splits depending on soil type. Chlorpyriphos @ 0.1 liter per 10 sqm shall be applied during April-May and Sept-Oct to safeguard against termites. Broad spectrum fungicide @ 2 gm/ liter of water shall be sprayed at least once in every season to protect plants from diseases. Constant watch shall be maintained to ensure that dead plants are replaced and weeds are removed. Hoeing/Weeding shall be done 15 times a year, twice a month in July, August and September and once a month in remaining months of the year. |
| 173 | The plants shall be pinched one month after planting to encourage lateral growth. Withered flower heads shall be continuously removed during flowering time. The dead plants shall be replaced with plants of same species. Measurement: Length and breadth of the bed shall be measured correct to 0.1 m and the area shall be calculated in square meter correct to two places of decimal. Rate: The rate shall include the cost of labour and material involved in all the operations described above.
