(ii) The exact bitumen content required shall be determined following the Mix Design procedure contained in the Asphalt Institute Manual MS-2 (Sith Edition) as referred in case 3.5.3 of IRC 111:2009. The adjustment in rate shall be priced at the rate of Rs. 60.00 per Kg of bitumen. |
| 7 | M&L Preparation of black top surfaces by brushing with wire brushes for removing crack mud etc, sweeping with brooms and finally fanning the cleaning surface with machanical air blower to remove all loose dirt/foregin materails and applying evenly a priming coat with bituminous primer (Viscosity Grade Paving Bitumen of Grade VG-10) at the rate of 5 kg per 10 Sqm of surface laying bituminous premix semi dense asphaltic concrete 40 mm consolidated thickness with 5.5% paving bitumen (VG-30) of binder content by weight of total mix, rolled and compacted to required camber and gradient to uniform smooth surfaces by mechanical paver and rolled with 8 to 12 tonne power roller, complete all as specified and directed.Notes :- (i) Job mix formula shall be approved by GE/AGE(I). (ii) Paving bitumen primer of grade VG-10 for tack coat and bitumen of grade VG-30 for semi dense asphaltic concrete shall be used.(iii) Design mix shall be got done by the contractor at his own expenses from NABL/ Govt Approved laboratory as decided by GE/AGE (I).(iv) The contractor shall quote his rates by considering binder content @ 5% of total mix by weight. However, in case of any variation in weight of binder content on lower side as per actual design mix, the same shall be adjusted @ Rs 60/- per Kg of bitumen. |
