Rough excavation not exceeding 1.50 metres deep in soft/loose soil from embankments of firing range butts, traverse walls and similar earthwork formations, including getting out, dressing of sides and bottom, and stacking the excavated material at site as directed within a lead not exceeding 50 metres. The stacked material shall be screened on the site of work for separation and recovery of metal, chippings, brass, cartridge cases, lids and other recoverable materials, complete as directed. The screened materials and residual sand/soil obtained on either side of the screen shall be stacked separately in distinct heaps for the purpose of measurement. After measurement, all recoverable materials such as metal, brass, cartridge cases, lids and similar items shall be handed over to the user/unit as directed by the Engineer-in-Charge. The balance unserviceable material, including residual sand mixed with burnt saw dust and other waste matter, shall be removed from the site and deposited in low-lying areas as directed, with a lead exceeding 1.50 Km but not exceeding 3.00 Km, complete all as specified and as directed by Engineer-in-Charge.
Supply only Fine Sand (river sand) and stacked near firing range butts, traverse walls for measurement complete all as specified and as directed by Engineer-in-Charge.
Supply only saw dust and stacked near firing range butts, traverse walls for measurement complete all as specified and as directed by Engineer-in-Charge.
Labour only for mixing approved river sand and saw dust in the ratio of 50:50 by volume, spreading, depositing, filling, levelling and compacting the mixed material in firing range stop butts in layers not exceeding 25 cm in thickness, including watering as necessary, forming the required profile, height and side slopes, dressing the finished surface, and carrying out all operations necessary for proper consolidation and completion of the work, complete all as specified and directed by the Engineer-in-Charge.
| 5 | Material and labour for removing existing sand-filled bags from firing range stop butts, screening and recovering the serviceable river sand therefrom, and providing new brown hessian gunny bags of minimum size 66 cm × 36 cm, internally laminated with polyethylene. The item shall include filling the recovered river sand into the new bags, stitching the bags securely, and placing/stacking the filled bags in position at the top, bottom and sides of firing range stop butts to the required profile, alignment and dimensions, complete all as specified and directed by the Engineer-in-Charge.Notes: (i) The rate shall be deemed to include supply of new hessian gunny bags, opening and removing existing bags, screening and recovering serviceable river sand, filling, stitching, handling, loading, unloading, transportation within the site, stacking and proper arrangement of sand-filled bags to the required profile and dimensions. The rate shall also include collection and disposal of unserviceable gunny bags and other waste material arising from the operation, complete as directed by the Engineer-in-Charge.(ii) Measurement for payment shall be made on the basis of the number of new bags filled with recovered river sand, stitched and placed in position as specified and directed.
