The job includes Dye Penetration (DP) testing of pipeline joints as per approved QAP. Underground pipelines to be laid at a depth as per site condition/ laying through hume pipes/ culverts & Painting/Coating the same as detailed in the enclosed specifications. Welding of pipeline should conform to Radiography quality. 10% of the joints shall be radiographed and the cost of the same will be paid separately as per respective item, etc. and as directed at site. Note: a. Any repairs to the defective welding shall be made good at no extra cost to IOCL. Re-radiography of repaired joint shall also be at contractor's cost. b. Civil works for laying of UG pipeline laying will be paid separately. c. Wrapping/Coating to be done as per specification given below & detailed specification given in tender document. i) Surface preparation : Blast cleaning to Sa 2½ ii) Primer : Apply a coat of primer (Coal Tar and solvent based primer) of density 0.90 to 0.95 gm/cm3 and viscosity of 1000-2000 centipoise (Pypkote primer manufactured by IWL or its equivalent) at the rate of 100 gm/sq.m. The primer shall be allowed to dry until the solvent evaporates and the surface becomes tacky. iii) Pypkote AW 4mm tape or equivalent is wound around the pipe in spiral fashion and bonded completely to the primer coated surface of the pipe by thermo fusion process and with recommended overlaps as per manufacturers’ specifications. The overlaps are sealed by the same thermo fusion process. 250mm is left uncoated on either end of the pipe to permit installation and welding - these to be wrapped / coated after welding of pipe joint. |
