Replacing broken/damaged LT/HT PCC/STP poles (9/11/13 m) & erecting new PCC pole (9/11/13 m) in mid-span to raise low-hanging conductors / AB cable to safe ground clearance – loading from store (up to 100 KM distance from site), carriage to site, return back the scrap to store again, pit digging (depth & grouting as per standard line-construction practice), erection, fixing clamp/cross-arm/insulator, sagging of conductors to safe ground clearance & restoring supply. All grouting material by contractor.
Repair of rust-damaged ST poles (9/11/13 m) near ground by welding additional channel/angle/iron strip of approved section to restore strength. Channel/angle/strip by contractor.
Pulling & tightening of loose conductor / AB cable / new conductor (LT & HT) per span, maintaining safe ground clearance as per CEA Safety Regulations.
Straightening of tilted poles by filling gitti/boulder/packing at base & tightening stay to bring the pole vertical. Packing material by contractor.
Cutting/trimming of tree branches fouling 11 kV / 33 kV lines and clearing the line for safe supply, with safe disposal of cut material.
Earthing of poles by GI earth rod/pipe with earth-wire connection; earth resistance as per IE Rules / CEA Regulations. Earth rod by contractor.
Providing and fixing of cradle/cage guarding of LT/HT lines at road/route crossings over the Kanwar route to maintain safe ground clearance per CEA Safety Regulations / IS 5613. The guarding shall comprise two bearer/guard wires cross-laced into a cradle below the conductors and earthed at both ends, complete with guarding cross-arms (at supporting poles, average span ~15 m) and cross-lacing/binding at intervals not exceeding 1 m. Measurement is per running metre of the guarded span, and the rate is deemed to include the complete cradle — both bearer wires + all cross-lacing + cross-arms + supports + earthing — for that length; it is NOT the length of a single wire/cable. GI guard wire (6 SWG) issued by the Department; cross-arms, lacing wire (10/12 SWG), binding wire (14/16 SWG), fittings, earthing and all labour by the contractor.
Providing and Insulating HT/LT poles against probable leakage current by wrapping insulating plastic sheet of thickness >=50 micron (UV-resistant, weatherproof) from ground up to 8 ft (2.4 m) height in NOT LESS THAN 2 complete layers with minimum 50% overlap, bound sufficiently TIGHT at top, middle & bottom (no slack/slippage) so that no pole surface is exposed within 8 ft
Providing and fixing of rigid uPVC casing pipe of 225 mm nominal outer diameter (9 inch), minimum wall ~4 mm, UV-stabilised (non-pressure casing grade), as slip-casing over round ST/STP poles from ground level up to 8 ft (approx. 2.5 m per pole); the bore (~217 mm) fits all pole classes — 9 m (~140 mm), 11 m (~165 mm) and 13 m (~194 mm base, per IS 2713). The pipe shall be slipped over the pole (or longitudinally slit and closed around it) and secured with a minimum of 3 nos MS clamps (top, middle and bottom), the clamps being welded to hold the casing firmly in position. Applicable to round poles. All material to be supplied by the contractor.
Insulate stay with >=50 micron plastic-sheet wrapping (min. 2 layers, 50% overlap) Wrapping must be tighten with tape at min 4 places. Material by contractor.
Providing and fixing of rigid uPVC pipe of 32 mm nominal outer diameter (1 inch), wall thickness 2–3 mm, as casing over the stay/guy wire (approx. 2.5 m per stay) to insulate it from public contact; the pipe shall be secured with a minimum of 3 nos MS clamps and end caps, the clamps being welded to hold the casing firmly in position. All material to be supplied by the contractor.
Providing and applying high-intensity retro-reflective radium tape, >=50 mm wide, Class-2 (engineering grade), weatherproof & UV-resistant, as warning bands on insulated poles, stays, guards & flex frames. Supply and application both in contractor's scope.
Bamboo (baans-balli) fencing/barricading of distribution transformers / double-pole / four-pole structures kept in the open, approx. 6 ft height above ground/road level, using sound seasoned bamboo with each vertical post penetrated/embedded minimum 2 ft (600 mm) below ground level (i.e. ~8 ft total bamboo length) and the pit firmly rammed/backfilled; verticals lashed with GI binding wire to form an all-round barricade keeping the public away from live equipment; 3-layer horizontal bamboo lacing, spacing between two verticals not more than 1 metre. Measured & paid per running metre of barricade erected (height fixed as above). All material by contractor.
Fixing/correcting stay insulator (porcelain/polymer, approved make) & stay on poles, with stay tension as per standard practice. Stay insulator by contractor.
Providing and fixing of fire-retardant full-colour danger/safety warning boards on DT fencing, poles, and other electrical infrastructure near pandals, temples, highways, crowded markets & crossing points; board design (electrical-safety norms, statutory caution & publicity/IEC content) to be prepared by contractor and approved/finalised by the Department before printing; FR flex ≥440 GSM self-extinguishing, full-colour print with hazard pictogram & bilingual caution \\"खतरा–बिजली / DANGER–ELECTRICITY\\", standard sizes 2×1 ft & 4×2 ft or as per site requirement, on painted MS/GI angle frame, clamped/grouted as per site; measured per sq ft incl. frame & fixing, all material by contractor.
| 16 | Pre-execution physical survey with GPS mapping of distribution transformers (DTs), poles and other vulnerable points under EDC Loni along the Kanwar route; and post-execution GPS-tagged (geo-coordinated) photographs of the completed works showing location/coordinate details, submitted in soft copy and duly verified by the concerned Engineer (lump-sum).
