Removal of the defective concrete across the bar should be at least 2mm beyond the defective bar so that the reinforcing bar can be cleaned with emery ribbon, wire brush etc. After cleaning the bar wash the bar with clean water and collectall spalled/fallen concrete. Measurement is calculated for whole calculated whole exposed area.
