| 1 | Assistance of Skilled Labour for Breakdown Maintenance & Machining Jobs at FACT CD Phase 1 Area & Workshop |
| 2 | Assistance of Craftsman Fitter Labour for Maintenance of Township Pump Houses, Phase-1 Area, and Workshop Machinery:The work involves: The department is required to carry out daily breakdown and preventive maintenance activities across the Phase-1 area, township pump houses, and various workshop machinery. As the Phase-1 installations are nearly 50 years old, the maintenance demand is significantly high. The major works include:1) Maintenance of pumps, machinery, pipelines, and fittings at the Intake Well Pump House, Filter Bed Pump House, and Booster Pump House (covering 15 pumps and associated pipelines and fittings).2) Maintenance of canteen machinery, boilers, pipelines, and related equipment.3) Maintenance of the drinking water pumping system at Phase-1, including 7 pumps, Clariflocculator system, Chlorinator system, sand filters, valves, pipelines, and fittings.4) Maintenance of fire pumps and engines (3 numbers each), along with pipelines and fittings at the Fire Pump House in the Old Ammonia area.5) Maintenance of various machinery in the Main Laboratory and Fire & Safety departments.6) Maintenance of EOT cranes and hoists in the Phase-1 area.7) Breakdown and preventive maintenance of workshop machinery, including lathes, milling machines, drilling machines, surface grinders, slotting machines, horizontal and vertical boring machines, hydraulic presses, bending machines, valve test benches, air compressors, EOT cranes, etc.8) Servicing and testing of valves (Gate, Globe, Relief, Safety, NRV, etc.).9) Measuring and marking of jobs for machining and fabrication.10) Dynamic balancing of rotors at the Central Maintenance Shop (approximately 60–80 rotors per year).11) Overhauling and repair of hydraulic jacks and chain pulley blocks.12) Overhauling of pumps and valves on fire tenders, along with other minor repair works on fire tenders.13) Minor repair works on heavy and light vehicles. |
| 3 | Assistance of Craftsman Machinist Labour for Machining Jobs at the WorkshopThe work involves: Skilled machinist assistance is essential for machining, drilling, boring, turning, grinding, and reconditioning and machining works at the Workshop at Phase-1 & Phase-2 plants of FACT-CD. The jobs include machining critical components of plant machinery, electrical and instrumentation equipment, and heavy equipment parts requiring high precision. Machinists also repair, modify, and rebuild worn components to ensure reliable plant operation.Their tasks involve operating lathes, boring machines, milling, drilling, slotting, and other workshop machines for routine, breakdown, and production-emergency jobs. Work includes machining spare parts, reconditioning gears, balancing rotors, precision boring/turning, and preparing mating surfaces with accurate trial fits. Machinists also support fabrication and structural modifications, ensuring proper alignment and functionality. For heavy or complex workpieces, especially on horizontal and vertical boring machines, two machinists are required at a time to safely and efficiently complete the job. |
| 4 | Assistance of Craftsman Welder Labour for Workshop, Intake Well, Phase-1, and Phase-2 Plants. The work involves: The assistance of skilled welder labour is essential for carrying out a wide range of welding, cutting, fabrication, and maintenance activities at the Workshop, Intake Well, and Phase-1 & Phase-2 plants of FACT-CD. The work includes shaft welding, shaft build-up, hardfacing of worn-out components, plate cutting, and support for attending breakdown and general maintenance jobs related to mechanical equipment. In addition, the tasks involve fabrication and repair of pipelines, vessels, tanks, machine parts, chutes, hoppers, platforms, handrails, supporting structures, and other structural components requiring cutting, welding, and fitting. Welders are also required for repairing cracked or damaged components, strengthening and rebuilding worn surfaces, and modifying equipment parts to suit maintenance requirements.Welders provide critical assistance for cutting operations using Oxy-acetylene/Argon cutting, gouging are routinely required for dismantling seized components, removing damaged sections of pipelines and structures, and preparing surfaces for welding or fabrication. They also support specialized jobs such as fabrication of brackets, supports, mounting frames, repair of conveyor structures, welding of base plates, and assembly of various plant equipment, ensuring timely completion of maintenance jobs and uninterrupted operation of the plants.
