As per NF C 17-102 : 2011, (Annexe C), Clause C.3.4 ESE terminal is tested & certified for the below parameters. • ESE air terminal should be tested for an Impulse current (10/350 micro sec)=103 KA • Charge (Q) = 54.9 A.s • Specific Energy (W/R) = 2500 KJ/Ω and as per Clause C.3 all the tests should be carried out on a sample (preferably all tests in one lab) according to the flow chart in figure C.1 (Sequence of testing) pg 69 i. General tests, ii. Mechanical tests, iii. Environmental tests, iv. Electrical tests, v. Early Streamer Test (Δt in 10μs to 60 μs and standard deviation) • For the local certification, the ESE air terminal should be tested for switching impulse current of 40 KA (8/20 micro sec) or more.
