Repair work shall be carried out by welding with plinth formation for approximately 100 steel (ST) poles, which are submerged below ground level in HT/LT lines at various locations. The repair shall be executed by inserting MS angles into the affected poles over a period of the next Six (06) months.The scope of work includes supply of all materials and execution of labour under Executive Engineer EUDD–Technical for 11 kV and LT network (City and South Side Ghaziabad-I), as per the following specifications.Note: All materials and labour shall be arranged and provided by the contractor.

Repairing of broken or severely damaged steel tubular (S.T.) poles (damaged at ground level) in existing HT/LT lines due to excessive rusting and scaling shall be carried out as per the following procedure:First, a pit of size 1.0 m × 1.0 m × 1.0 m shall be excavated around the affected pole. The corroded portion of the pole shall then be thoroughly cleaned by removing rust and scales using a hard wire brush and chisel.Thereafter, 4 to 5 pieces of MS angle iron of size 50 × 50 × 6 mm, each having a length varying from 70 cm to 75 cm as per site requirement, shall be cut and properly fitted. These MS angles shall be welded to the healthy top and bottom portions of the pole using first-class electric welding with a contractor-owned welding generator set. Proper alignment of the pole shall be ensured, especially in cases where the top and bottom portions are separated.The welding shall be carried out in such a manner that a minimum overlap of approximately 200 mm with the healthy portion is achieved before welding. After completion of welding work, the excavated pit shall be refilled and properly compacted.Further, concreting for grouting of the S.T. pole shall be done with 0.285 cubic meters of cement concrete. A circular plinth shall be constructed around the repaired pole, having a height of 0.30 meters above ground level and an outer diameter of 500 mm, using cement concrete in the ratio of 1:3:6 (cement : sand : stone ballast).The work shall be completed in all respects, including supply of materials and labour, as per standard specifications and site requirements.
