For bonding with ashlar, all four edges (except to front edges) and rear side face to be made rough by chiselling or by help of a cutter as per site engineer or approved mock up on site for proper bonding with mortar. Thickness of stone should be 75mm to 100 mm after making the rear surface rough. There should be a header at every vertical joint of ashlar 75mm width x 300mm height and depth equal depth of wall header with rock-face on front side as per design and approval of engineer-in-charge.
