| 184 | Supply, laying, jointing, testing, and commissioning in replacement of MS ERW Class ‘B’ pipes of 250 mm nominal bore, having minimum wall thickness of 6 mm with permissible tolerance of ±10%, conforming to IS: 3589 and ISI marked, including flanged joints complete with MS flanges, nuts, bolts, washers, gaskets, etc., laid in trenches / along roads / on surface / on slopes / over pillars / through culverts / causeways, etc., complete, all as specified and as directed by the Engineer-in-Charge.Notes:-(i) MS flanges manufactured from MS plate conforming to IS:2062 of min thickness 16 mm shall be provided at every 6.0 m length of plain-ended pipe or at shorter lengths as directed by the Engineer-in-Charge. The flanges shall be welded to MS ERW pipes, with suitable gaskets provided between mating flanges and secured with the required number of nuts and bolts at each joint. The cost of flanges, nuts, bolts, gaskets, and welding of flanges to the pipes shall be deemed to be included in the quoted item rate.(ii) All standard fittings such as bends (any radius or angle), tapers (straight, bend, increasing, decreasing, or double-socket type), tee pieces (single branch), ‘Y’ junctions, double branches, cross fittings, collars, caps, plugs, elbows, tail pieces, and other necessary MS fittings shall be deemed to be included in the quoted item rate. All fittings shall be ISI marked. |
| 185 | (iii) Jointing of the pipeline shall be carried out only through flanged joints, strictly as directed by the Engineer-in-Charge.(iv) Excavation and earthwork shall be measured and paid for separately under the relevant items.(v) Any special fittings required to be fabricated at site to suit typical site conditions shall be measured and paid for separately.(vi) Welding of flanges shall be carried out by trained and skilled personnel at site and shall be deemed to be included in the quoted rate for normal flanged joints for nominal pipe lengths.
