| 5 | Elastomeric Bearing Replacement or realignment - Replacing/Refixing defective elastomeric bearings including arrangement for lifting and lowering the span by providing and operating suitable hydraulic jacks of minimum capacity 300MT with check nut, tilting saddle and hydraulic power pack (as approved by MMMOCL), cleaning of pier caps, dismantling and disposing of existing grout below/above the bearing with all leads and lifts, hacking /roughening of pedestal top, chipping of concrete as per the methodology approved by MMMOCL. The bearings shall be placed over M.S stool/ plate, to be placed/ positioned on the pedestal and a straight/tapered plate shall be placed between the soffit of girder and bearing as per site condition (cost of tapered plate shall be paid separately). Fixing the straight/tapered plate to the soffit of girder by Conbextra EP-75 or equivalent and applying epoxy mortar (Nitomotar 30 or equivalent) of approved brand. The rates include all other items i/c tools, water, electricity, generator, compressor, safety net all around, tools & plants, Labour and material, lead, lift, taxes etc. complete. (If new bearing is required, payment made separately). The entire work shall be executed within the framework of overall bearing and repair methodology or any modification as directed by engineer in charge. The sky lift shall be provided at site till the completion of bearing replacement work and no fixed hours are specified. The safety and security of all equipments / machinery/ material will lie with agency.(NOTE: THE PAYMENT UNDER THIS ITEM SHALL COVER LIFTING OF ONE END OF VIADUCT SPAN (BOTH U-GIRDER) FOR REREPLACING ONE OR MORE BEARINGS / PEDESTALS REPAIRING). |

The standard practice involves a multi-coat system, often an inorganic zinc silicate primer or a zinc-rich epoxy primer, followed by intermediate and top coats. Key requirements generally include: 1)Surface Preparation: All steel surfaces must be thoroughly cleaned to achieve astandard of cleanliness at least equal to Sa 2½ (Near White Metal Blast Cleaning) or Wire brushing, Surfaces must be free from rust, mill scale, grease, dirt, and other contaminants.2)Paint System: A typical durable system includes: a)Primer: One coat of inorganic zinc silicate primer or zinc-rich epoxy primer, with a dry film thickness (DFT) of around 75 microns.Intermediate Coat: One or two coats of epoxy or high-build epoxy paint, with a DFT of around 75-100 microns per coat. b)Top Coat: One or two coats of a durable finish, such as polyurethane (PU) or synthetic elastomeric coating cum paint, providing UV resistance and the final color (often grey or as specified by the engineer), with a DFT of around 50-75 microns per coat. c)Total Dry Film Thickness (DFT): The total minimum DFT of the coating system typically ranges from 200 to 250 microns. This should be followed by two coats of protective two component, acryclic polyisocyanate reticulant based, UV resistant anticorrosive coating of APR as approved by Engineer in charge. Apply the coats by brush or spray at 4-6 hours interval between each coat. Two Component, Air Drying, Acryclic Polyisocyanate Reticulant (APR) based Coating should have following properties: 1. Volume Solids: 40 ± 3% (Depending upon shade) 2. Adhesion (ASTM D 4541): > 500 psi (Concrete Failure) 3. Impact Resistance (ASTM G14): 25 - 30 J 4. Conformance: IS 13213 5. Dry Film Thickness/Coat: 40-50 microns at recommended coverage It shall be applied as per manufacturer‘s specification.Itemrate inclusive of all materials, labours, supervision, tools, tackles, transportation, leadlift & manlifter etc. |
