| 1 | Repair to damaged edges of concrete in PQC slab by cutting the three sides of edges to shape 30 to 40mm deep and 40 to 60 mm wide, trimming the surface and application of resin formulation in two stages as given below including preparation of surface complete all as specified and as directed.(a) First Stage consist of application of a primer coat with epoxy resin of mix with formulation of 100 parts of Araldite GY 257 (depend 101 propane epichorihydrin) and 50 part of Hardner Hy 840 by weight. (b) Second stage consist of application of epoxy resin mortar mix with the following formulations :- (i) Araldite GY 257 -100 parts by weight (ii) Hardner Hy 840 - 50 parts by weight.(iii) Quartz sand No.9 - 450 parts by weight. |
| 2 | Repairing the pot holes and edge spalling in PQC slab by cutting the existing concrete slab by machine to average depth of not excedding 40 mm and average width/lengh not exceeding 60 mm trimming the surface and application of resin formulation in two stages as given below including preparation of surface complete all as specified and as directed.(a) First Stage consist of application of a primer coat with epoxy resin of mix with formulation of 100 parts of Araldite GY 257 (depend 101 propane epichorihydrin) and 50 part of Hardner Hy 840 by weight. | 3 | M&L removing the existing damaged filled sealing compound including polyethylene rod in Construction/Dummy joints by raking end using mechanical mode of operation and cleaning of Construction/Dummy joints of concrete pavement free from dust, applying masking tape on edge of joint to prevent accidental spillage of sealant on top surfaces to give a neat and fine finish of the sealant, provision of polyethylene backup rod 8 to 15 mm dia in construction/dummy joint and sealed with 10-12mm thick polyurethane based sealing compound confirming to BS 5212 1990 or equivalent of approved colour after application of suitable primer and removing the masking tape after the sealant filling etc complete for construction / dummy joint 6mm to 12mm wide all as specified and as per manufacturers instructions complete all as specified and as directed. |

| 5 | M&L providing and filling cracks/ Joints upto 30mm deep and 10mm to 25mm width in flexible pavement/ rigid pavements, using hot-applied bitumen based sealing compound after applying masking tape on edges of joints/ cracks to prevent accidental spillage of sealant on top surfaces and to give a neat finish to the sealent, including cleaning of cracks by brushing with wire brushes for removing caked mud etc and removing loose dirt, debris etc. using air blower and fill the voids of cracks/ joints fully upto the pavement surface and removing old damaged sealant from joints as per manufacuter's insrtructions complete all as specified and as directed. |
| 6 | M&L Carrying out skid resistance test (SRT) on flexible and rigid pavement by using british pendulum SRT device at 20 test locations covering total pavement area up to 60000 Sqm using british pendum/ SRT device conforming to EN 13036-4/ASTM E303 (or equivalent ) and the reading shall be taken on dry and wet surface condition at each point of surface,three readings / trails shall be taken at one location and the average of these readings / trails shall be considered. The frequency of test and test locations shall be decided by air force authorities to find out the coefficient of friction/ skid resistance of runway surface. Test standard and test procedure are mentioned in airport service manual.The report shall be prepared and to be submitted duly recommendation with remedial measures as directed by Engr-in-charge. |
| 7 | Note: [a] The test shall be carried out by qualified and experienced Engineer at the locations as shown by the user representative.[b] The tests shall be conducted three times at one location and average reading shall be considered.[c] The test shall be conducted in non-flying time as per guidelines of the ATC.[d] The test results shall be submitted in triplicate.[e] The rate quoted shall be deemed to be included for conducting three tests at Each location and nothing extra shall be paid on this account. |
| 8 | M & L preparing old black top surface by brushing with wire brushes for removing caked mud etc, sweeping with brooms and finally cleaning the surface using air blower to remove all loose dirt etc complete and applying evenly a coat of cold Polymer Modified emulsion (PME) by using mechanical sprayer, spraying of total cold liquid PME 0.5 Litre per sqm for one coat with mineral filler as recommended by manufacture of PME(after diluting with water), each coat diluted with in the ratio 1:1(PME:Water) and ensure uniform finish on applied area all as per manufacturer instruction complete all as specified and directed.. |
| 9 | Notes:- The tender shall take into consideration the following points while quoting the rates for this item:(a) Due care shall be taken for friction parameters during application of PME as per ICAO standard and friction test shall be caried out on newly PME applied surface by skid resistance test (SRT) using british pendulum SRT device. (b) It will be the responsibility of the tenderer to arrange british pendulum SRT device and carry out necessary testing as directed without any extra cost to Govt (c) Care shall be taken to fill wider gaps/cracks with 0.60 mm to 2.36 mm size coarse sand as per manufacture's instructions.(d) A Performance guarantee certificate for two years shall be submitted by the contractor to the GE on completion of the work as specified.(e) The work shall be carried out by the authorised and qualified applicator of the manufacturer only. (f) Contractor should take all precautions to cover and protect the Airfield lights falling in the area of work and make good the same in case of damage. (g) Care shall be taken to protect the existing painted lines/marking in the airfield to avoid splashes/spillages of Emulsion during application. |
| 10 | Material and labour for applying one coat of water based road marking paint such as lines, dashes, arrows, letters, boxes etc on roads / pavements and the like including preparation of old surfaces exceeding 10cm wide using wire brush to remove old flaky / loose painting layer and clean the surface thorougly complete all as specified and as directed.Coverage area of paint shall be 10 Sqm / Ltr adding 10-15% of portable water (Runway surfaces / air field area) |
| 11 | Notes for all items :-(a)All the works are to be carried out in Air force airfield operational area.(b) The Contractor should ensure that all the old unwanted articles be cleaned as the work proceeds without awaiting for instructions from the users and MES reps and the FOD spreaded over the main runway to be cleaned simultaneously and clearance in this rergard shall be obtained from respective ATC authorities. (d) In emergency and operational requirements, the Contractor shall provide maximum man power, tools and plants as necessitated by the user and as directed by the Engr In Charge.SITE FOR EXECUTION OF WORK(a) Tenderer shall note that work shall be executed at Runway/Air field and the site for execution of work will be made available to contractor on Saturday, Sunday, Holidays and non operational days or when site will made available by GE/ Engineer-in Charge after consultation of users, due to constant operational commitment at Station. The contractor will have to arrange his working programme accordingly. No claim whatsover, for not giving the entire site, on award of work and giving the site gradually will be entertained.The contractor shall consider this aspect while quoting his rates.
