Preparation of old painted surfaces using wire & dusting brush and sandpaper, including scraping of loose paint by paint scrubber for removal of flaking or peeling paint and the removal of all dust and loose particles, and the painting of lines, dashes, arrows, and letters on existing concrete/Bituminous surfaces of runways or airfield pavements (exceeding 10 cm in width). Work shall consist of one coat of aqua water-based road marking paint in any colour, mixed as per the manufacturer's instructions. Paint edges shall be marked straight and in line using road marking machinery; this includes fixing and subsequent removal of masking tape upon completion of the work, all as specified and directed by the Engineer-in-Charge.Note: 1)The approximate quantity of paintwork shall be executed on selected stretches of the runway. Surfaces shall be repainted as many times as directed by the Engineer-in-Charge; however, each instance of painting shall be measured and paid for separately under this item. 2) Painting by machine shall be done at any place and directed by the Engineer-in-Charge. The rate for the same shall be deemed to be included in the item given here above
