The limits of variations shall be worked out with the approved formula.TECHNICAL NOTE:-i.) Apart from the conformity with the grading and quantity requirement of individual ingredients exhibited above the mix aggregate i.e. coarse and fine aggregate for bituminous concrete shall meet all requirements set forth clause 507 of MORT&H specifications.ii.) The final grading for the aggregates required for bituminous concrete confirming to table 500.17 of MORT&H specifications shall be determined after getting the bituminous concrete designed from Punjab PWD, B&R Research Laboratory Patiala after obtaining 60% of material. The design mix so finally approved shall be termed as the approved mix. The aggregates shall be hydrophobic and of low porosity. The aggregates shall satisfy the physical requirement set forth in table 500-6 (addendum to latest revision).iii.) The approved mix shall exhibit the following details, source and location of all material:-(a) Binder expressed as percentage by weight of total mix.(b) Course expressed as percentage by weight of total mix.(c) Crushed bajri expressed as percentage by weight of total mix.(d) Fine aggregate expressed as percentage by weight of total mix.(e) A single definite percentage passing each sieve for mixed aggregates(f) Density of bituminous concrete after compaction will be not less than 2.35 gm/CC. |

The marker shall support a load of 13635 Kg tested in accordance with ASTM D4280. The marker shall withstand flexural strength of 909 kgf force in accordance with ASTM D4280. Marker lenses shall be moulded of Polycarbonate or methyl methecrylate conforming to ASTM D788. The supplier shall provide a 2 years warranty for satisfactory field performance as per clause 804.7.3 of MORT&H 5th revision specifications. |
