Excavation of earthwork in hilly area all heights and depths, in all kind of soils including saturated soil comprising of mixed soil, ordinary rock and hard rock. All work of rock cutting by blasting shall be carried out by taking all necessary precautions against soil erosion, damage to hill side, water pollution, etc. and to protect stability of hill side. Rock shall be excavated with chiseling and wedging out rock (where blasting is prohibited). All earth work in cutting/excavation, including rock excavation shall be carried out true to lines, grades, side slopes, width, camber, super-elevation and level as shown on the drawings or as directed by the Engineer-in-charge, in conformity with the requirement of technical specification of Ministry of Rural Development for Rural Roads August, 2004 (Two Thousand Four),C-1603.1, 1603.2 (Clause - One Thousand Six Hundred Three point One, One Thousand Six Hundred Three point Two) to achieve designed formation width including hauling and stacking of material useful for construction at suitable sites and safe disposal of unsuitable cut materials by all modes of transportations in all leads and lifts at specified places. in specified manner, systematically with due consideration to avoiding adverse effects on environment, trimming, filling of unevenness, blind age and finishing of the road to specified dimensions to the entire satisfaction as directed by the Engineer-in charge for smooth plying of traffic. All useful material such as stones, shingle, aggregate and slates shall be sorted out and stacked along the road side not less than 609.34 cubic metre (Six Zero Nine Point Three Four Cubic metre) in all cases, failing which recovery at the rate of Rupees @ 300/ only (Rupees Three Hundred Only) per cubic meter shall be effected on pro-rata basis Amounting to Rs. 182802- One lac Eighty Two Thousand Eight Hundred and Two Only). Any loss to the public and private property during the course of excavation shall be the absolute responsibility of the contractor, which shall have to be duly compensated by him in all cases.including haulage of mateial with in all leads, lifts and carriage of materials and as directed by the Engineer in-charge.
