Design, supply, erection, testing and commissioning of factory-moulded SMC/GRP sectional panel type potable water storage tank of 36,000 litres (36 KL) nominal capacity, internal dimensions approx. 4.0 m (L) × 3.0 m (B) × 3.0 m (H), conforming to IS 14399 (Part 1 & Part 2):1996, complete in all respects as per specifications below and as directed by Engineer-in-Charge:-(a) The tank shall be constructed from hot-pressed moulded, UV-stabilised, non-insulated SMC panels manufactured from sheet moulding compound comprising glass fibre reinforcement and selected polyester resin. Panels shall have minimum hydrostatic safety factor of 4.0, suitable for ambient temperature up to 55°C and water temperature up to 65°C, wind velocity 60 m/sec, roof live load 120 kg/m², and seismic zone B2 (PGA 0.25). (b) Panel configuration shall include: (i) Bottom panels: SMC, 1 m × 1 m, convex type. (ii) Side panels: SMC, 1 m × 1 m and 1 m × 0.5 m. (iii) Roof panels: SMC, 1 m × 1 m, anti-skid textured finish. (iv) Drain panel with special design for complete drainage. (v) Manhole: 1 m × 1 m SMC panel with lockable lid, clear opening 700 mm.(c) Mechanical and structural accessories shall include: (i) Hot dip galvanised (HDG) steel vertical corner angles. (ii) HDG external side supports and HDG base grillage. (iii) ISI-marked HDG C-channels at 1 m spacing with top external tie rods. (iv) FRP internal roof support members (minimum 5 mm thick hollow square section). (v) HDG high-tensile bolts, nuts and washers (Grade 8.8, M12 × 40 mm). (vi) Non-toxic sealing gasket/tape, 3 mm thick, high ageing resistance (e.g. Norseal or equivalent).(d) Fittings and appurtenances shall include: (i) Inlet, outlet, overflow and drain connections: 50 NB GI flanges with 9” long threaded nipples (BS-10 / Table-D). (ii) Mosquito-proof air vents (100 mm dia) with insect mesh. (iii) External galvanised ladder with wall fixing arrangement. (iv) Internal FRP ladder (for tank height exceeding 1 m).
