| 15 | Supply and Fixing of 1200 mm diameter concertina coil (razor security coil) shall be of expanded outside diameter approximately 1200 mm and manufactured from high tensile galvanized steel (GI) having a diameter of 2.5 mm to 3.0 mm, uniformly galvanized or stainless as per grade requirement. The razor blade tape shall be manufactured from galvanized steel strip of thickness 0.50 mm to 0.60 mm (or up to 0.70 mm where specified), machine-pressed and securely crimped onto the core wire. The blade profile shall be of approved type such as BTO-10, BTO-22, CBT-60 or equivalent, with sharp barbs of uniform spacing to ensure effective deterrence and high security performance. Suitable clips shall be used for connecting the loops at attachment points. Alternate pairs of coil loops are joined around the circumference creating the concertina effect. Coil loops shall not be linked. Each coil shall be properly coiled and firmly tied before fixing. Stretch the coils and allow them to rotate naturally around their central axis. Allowing the coil to rotate will ensure that there is no mechanical stress within the obstacle before lying. Locate the coil loops uniformly at the specified coil spacing. |
