| 1 | Excavation in soil in hilly areas in all heights and depths, in all kinds of soil including saturated soil comprising of mixed soil, ordinary rock and hard rock. All work of rock cutting by blasting shall be carried out by taking all necessary precautions against soil erosion, damages to hill side, water pollution etc. and to protect stability of hill side. Rock shall be excavated with chiseling and wedging out of rock (where blasting is prohibited). All earth work in cutting/excavation including rock excavation shall be carried out true to lines, grades, side slopes, width, camber, super-elevation and levels as shown on the drawings and as directed by the Engineer-in-Charge in conformity with the requirements of MoRD technical specification for Rural Road, Section. 300 & 1600 to achieve designed formation width including hauling and stacking of materials useful for construction at suitable sites safe manner and disposal of all surplus material to the approved dumping sites through all modes of transportation including head load and animal transport and mechanical means along with its leveling, fine dressing and carriage of machineries, tools, equipment’s and safety measures and other incidentals necessary to complete the work by mechanical means and labour if required. During the mobilization period, contractor should take the advanced x-sec in 15 m (fifteen metre) interval of whole road length in the presence of Engineer-in-charge or his representative. In case the advanced x-section has been taken in the presence of Engineer-in-Charge representative, in that case the same has to be got approved from Engineer-in-Charge. The land for dumping sites shall be arranged by the contractors himself and nothing extra shall be paid on this account, filling of unevenness blind age and finishing of the road to specified dimensions or as directed by the Engineer in-charge for smooth riding. The recovery for stones, whether useful or 318.54 (Three hundred Eighteen point Five Four) cubic metre at the rate of Rs 300/-only (Rupees three hundred only) per cubic meter for amouting to Rs. 7, 14, 444.00 only shall be effected on prorata basis in all circumstances. Any loss to the public and private property during the course of excavation shall be the absolute responsibility of the contractor, which shall have to be duly compensated by him in all cases. Formwork of plastic cells should be made of High Density Polyethylene (HDPE), sheets having thickness ranging from 0. 20-0. 22MM (zero point two zero to zero point two millimetre) with sides 150MMx150MM (one hundred fifty millimetre into one hundred fifty millimetre) and height as fixed by Engineer-in-charge. Cells should be stitched using thread, thus ensuring optimum joint strength. Joint strength should be a minimum of 2 (two) Kilo Newton per metre. Heat welded cells should not be procured as they are not able to withstand the tension and often break when they are laid in the full width of the carriageway. Iron spikes of about 200MM (two hundred millimetres) long are to be used to keep the cell walls taut. Nylon thread or rope may be used to prevent collapse of cells during placement of concrete. Iron spikes to be taken out for use in other place as soon as the concrete is in place. The sub base should be provided with concrete/stone block or brick on edge on either side of the carriageway protecting the sub base with full thickness of the concrete pavement for its confinement and protection. Curing of concrete slabs for 14 (fourteen)- days, curing compound (where specified) and water finishing to lines and grade as per drawing and Technical Specification of cell filled Concrete Pavement Published by NRRDA and as per the entire satisfaction and direction of Engineer – in- Charge including carriage of materials within all leads, lifts and other incidental. The lower plate will be welded with MS angle iron frame of 25mmx25mmx5mm (Twenty five millimetres into twenty five millimetres into five millimetres). The angle iron frame of the lower most plate and flat iron frame of middle plate will be welded to 2 Nos. (Two Nos.) 75mmx75mm (seventy five millimetre x seventy five millimetres) of 12 SWG (twelve standard wire gauge) sheet tubes posts duly embedded in cement concrete M-15 (M fifteen) nominal mix 1: 2.5: 5 (One cement: Two and half sand: Five graded or crushed stone aggregate 40mm (Forty millimetres) grade blocks of 450mmx450mmx600mm (four hundred fifty millimetres into four hundred fifty millimetres x six hundred millimetres), 600mm (six hundred millimetres) below ground level.
