products usa or approved equivalent, self-adhesive waterproofing membrane 1.5mm thick consisting of cross laminated hdpe polyethylene film and rubberized asphalt applied over rcc terrace as per specification given below or as per direction of engineer-in-charge : (1) remove existing brick bat water proofing from terrace. with carting of all debrides up to 3 km. lead.(2) provide v-shape groove, cleaning & filling with water proofing dr. fixit chemical & refill with hardening water proof material up to floor finish. execute treatment at every water leakage places.(3) clean the rcc slab surface free from dust with brush. make sure there is no sharp protrusions on the rcc. if any make it smooth by chipping and local repairs. (4) make 25mm x 25mm chase on the vertical parapet wall at height of 300mm for termination of the membrane. make 50 mm x 50 mm fillet in the corners between rcc slab and parapet wall, for membrane to be applied in curvature. (5) apply oil based primer on the rcc and allow to dry. (6) roll out membrane, cut it to manageable lengths and stick it to the surface by peeling off the release paper on the back of the membrane. press membrane in place. adjacent rolls to come on 50mm overlaps lines printed on the membrane. roll the laps and joints by hand roller. (7) continue rolling out membrane till entire area is covered. the laid membrane should confirm to elongation of 300 percentage, puncture resistance of 250n,lap adhesion of 683n/m tear resistance of 32n/m and resistance to hydrostatic head of 60m. the membrane should be resistant to acidic, alkaline or salty soil conditions. (8) the laid membrane shall be protect with m-200 grade cement concrete i.p.s. floor & maintained slope for removing of rain water. c.c. laid 100mm to 150mm thickness. the membrane work shall be carried out by a specialist agency in accordance with above specifications and shall carry a guarantee against leakage, seepage etc. for (10)ten years.
