Work shall be carried out as per ‘Special conditions of contract for the maintenance of Rail siding’. | 9 | Earth work in excavation in all kinds of soil including hard laterite not requiring blasting by mechanical means (Hydraulic excavator) / manual means in foundation trenches or drains, including dressing of sides and ramming of bottoms, keeping the sides from collapsing and bailing out water to keep the trenches dry for concreting, for lift up to 1.5m, including getting out the excavated soil, back filling after construction of foundation or trenches/drain, in layers of 200mm and compacting each layer with plate compactors or by other manual means and disposal of surplus excavated soil as directed, for leads up to 1km within the premises of FACT as directed by Engineer in-charge. Item measured on excavation with 30cm additional width all around the footing / sides of trenches or drains. Contractor shall do necessary pumping out of water in water-logged area and provide necessary shoring, sheet piling and planking in areas where there are chances of collapse of earth sides at no extra cost. |

The culverts after gaining strength shall be transported to position by manual / mechanical means and placed in position in line and levels with the drains using cranes of necessary capacity and sealing gaps with cement mortar 1:3, as required (Note: - Cement content considered in this item is @ 350 kg/cum. Excess cement used as per design mix is payable separately) Bidders may note that only one track will be available at a time for placement of pre cast culverts, and with in 24 hours of release of tracks, the tracks shall be made worthy for wagon operation after inserting the RCC culverts. All necessary machines including excavators, cranes, loaders etc. and skilled labour shall be made available for the work. There is no guarantee that the next track will be released immediately for placement of culvert and delay may be expected for release of next track. |
