| 8 | The work involves the thorough cleaning of existing polycarbonate sheets, followed by the systematic sealing of all longitudinal and transverse joints, as well as bolt fixings, using high-grade waterproofing materials to ensure a 100% watertight installation. The participating agency must visit the site to assess the current level of degradation, accumulation of debris, and the condition of the existing support structure. All silt, moss, bird droppings, and old, peeling sealants must be removed. Harsh chemical cleaners, abrasives, or high-pressure washers (above 1,500 PSI) are strictly prohibited as they can damage the UV-protective layer of the polycarbonate.Cold-applied, high-tack bituminous tape with a weather-resistant aluminum or UV-stabilized film backing.Apply the membrane over the joints with a minimum overlap of 50mm on either side of the seam. All materials used must be chemically compatible with polycarbonate to prevent \\"crazing\\" and sealing all joints using a suitable waterproofing compound or self-adhesive bituminous polymer membrane, as required, complete in all respects and as directed by the Engineer-in-Charge Please Enable Macros to View BoQ information |
