Removing all bitumen-based patching, flashing materials, silicone caulking, sealants, and any other miscellaneous materials from the existing metal sheets by mechanical means or any other effective approved method. The surface shall be made clean, dry, and sound, complete in all respects, to receive the waterproofing treatment as directed by the Engineer-in-Charge. |
| 2 | Treatment of Rusted Areas and Application of Anti-Corrosive Primer:Removing all rusted portions by mechanical means such as scraping, wire brushing, or grinding to expose clean and sound metal surface. Applying rust remover of approved make such as Dr. Fixit Rust Remover / Sika Rustoff-100 / equivalent as per manufacturer’s specifications. After proper cleaning and ensuring the surface is dry and free from dust, grease, oil, and other contaminants, applying one coat of anti-corrosion primer of approved make such as Dr. Fixit Anti-Corrosive Primer / Sika Zinc Rich Primer / Fosroc Nitozinc Primer (Std.) / equivalent, without dilution, over the prepared metal surface using brush, roller, or spray. |
| 3 | Replacement of Damaged/Corroded Roofing Sheets and Patching:Removing the existing damaged and/or corroded roofing sheets, including cutting, dismantling, and disposing of unserviceable materials. Providing and fixing 24 gauge aluminium sheet patches, matching the profile of the existing metal roofing sheets, cut to required size and shape. The patches shall be properly aligned and securely fixed in position with approved rivets/screws/fasteners or welding as required to ensure firm anchorage and structural stability. All joints shall be made watertight by proper sealing with approved sealing compound (to be measured and paid for separately). |
| 4 | Providing and Laying Vermiculite–Cement Concrete for Slope Correction and Fixing Aluminium Sheet:Providing and laying vermiculite–cement concrete in proportion 7:1 (7 parts medium density exfoliated vermiculite : 1 part cement by volume) for formation of slope on roof surface. The vermiculite shall be medium density type having bulk density 60–130 kg/m³. The vermiculite concrete shall be laid to the required gradient with an average thickness of 50 mm over a length as required, properly spread, levelled, lightly compacted, and finished to obtain a uniform surface to facilitate rainwater drainage. After proper setting and curing of vermiculite concrete, providing and fixing 24 gauge plain aluminium sheet over the prepared and levelled surface, cut to required size and shape, and fixed with approved fasteners to maintain the finished slope. All joints shall be properly sealed to make the surface watertight (sealing compound to be measured and paid for separately. |
| 5 | Metal Surface: Horizontal and vertical joint treatment (100-125mm width)- Providing and carry out waterproofing detailing and joint treatment for metal joints using 2-component PMMA base liquid applied waterproofing system reinforced of make Dr. Fixit Triflex Pro Detail/ SIKA:Sika Lastic Rapid-721 PMMA + Sika Reemat Premium / FOSROC: Nitoproof PMMA Membrane + fabric or equivalent make with special polyester perforated fleece to provide watertight joints which becomes rainproof after 30 mins of application, having certifications like ETAG 005 for durability, CE Certification, Fire proof as per EN 13501 etc. Surface preparation includes cleaning of metal surface, mask the area using suitable masking tape, mix and apply Metal primer of make Dr. Fixit: Triflex Metal Primer / FOSROC: NITO Prime 115 / SIKA Primer-206-G+P or equivalent make as approved by engineer-in-charge over cleaned surface using suitable brush/roller coverage 80-100 ml/m2 , allow the primer to cure for approx. 45 mins @ 30 °C, apply 25 mm wide duct tape over joint, prepare 2-component PMMA base liquid coating mix using slow speed drill for min 2-3 mins, apply first coat by using suitable brush/roller coverage @ 2.0 kg/m2, installing polyester fleece while coating is still wet, roll the same to saturate in coating followed by application of second coat of 2-component PMMA base liquid coverage @ 1.0 kg/m2. System exhibits properties like Shore A Hardenss75 as per ASTM D2240, Tear resistance with fleece- >20 N/mm(ASTM D624), Tensile Strength-> 3 N/mm2 (ASTM D412), Elongation-> 40 %(ASTM D412), Peel Adhesion to concrete - 1.5 N/mm2 (ASTM D7234 Seal and replace fastener and installation on metal roof, Replacement of roof fasteners, flashings and capping, as required and needed. Sealing up of all lapping joints, gaps, flashing and capping with 100 Gsm chopped mesh and polymer elastomeric waterproof coating with reinforcement mesh. All joints seems and fasteners shall be sealed with liberal amount of coating with polymer elastomeric waterproof coating with reinforcement mesh of make Dr. Fixit Wonderproof 100 / SIKA LASTIC - 560 / FOSROC Nitoproof UV or equivalent make while it is still fresh, a 10 cm wide strip of reinforcing with 40 Gsm Non-woven geotextile fleece fabric / seam tape along the edges at the junctions, pipe joints etc. All weld joints upper side should be repair with 2-component PMMA base liquid All vertical up-stands and junctions, wall floor joints, mechanical installation shall be treated with 2-component PMMA base liquid as recommend in technical data sheet and Mechanical installation. |
| 6 | Waterproof Coating: Liquid Applied polyurethana waterproof coating of make Dr. Fixit Wonderproof 100 / SIKA LASTIC - 625N / FOSROC Nitoproof UV / Birla Opus Prime B90 or similar product as approved by Engineer-in-charge of make with reinforcement mesh. The concrete / metal surface must be brought into surface saturated dry condition (SSD). Apply 1st coat of metal primer of make Dr. Fixit Anti-Corrosive Primer / Sika Zinc Rich Primer / Fosroc Nitozinc Primer (Std.) or similar product as approved by Engineer-in-charge. Providing and applying the first coat of Liquid Applied polyurethana waterproof coating with reinforcement mesh at a rate of 0.45-0.50 Kg/sq.mt/coat. Place a 45-GSM glass fiber mesh or 200225 GSM raw mesh between the first and second coats while the first coat is still wet. Allow the first coat to dry for 3-4 hours. Apply the second and third coats of Liquid Applied polyurethana waterproof coating with reinforcement mesh with the same application coverage, but in a direction perpendicular to that of the first and second coats. Allow each coat to air cure for a minimum of 3-4 hours after application. Ensure that no void surface is left untreated or uncoated. All coats should be applied in directions perpendicular to each other, ensuring the correct consumption of material, resulting in a total dry film thickness of 900—1000 microns with system coverage in three undiluted coats at a rate of 1.40 -1.50 Kg/ sq.mt/coat. Allow the system to air cure for 5-7 days minimum.
