| 11 | M&L for preparing old black top surfaces by brushing with wire brushes for removing caked mud etc., sweeping with brooms and finally fanning the cleaned surface using air blowers to remove all loose dirt etc. complete and applying cold Polymer Modified bitumen Emulsion (PME) by spraying with machine of total cold liquid PME consumption 0.89 litre/ Sqm (un-diluted) for two coats with mineral filler as recommended by manufacturer of PME (after diluting with water), each coat diluted in the ratio 1:1 (PME : Water) and ensure uniform finish of PME on runway complete all as per manufacturer’s instructions and all as specified and as directed.[Note: (i) PME shall be issued by the MES under Schedule \"B\" free for application(ii) Quoted rate shall include for all other material components required if any] (iii) The tenderer shall take into consideration of the following points while quoting his rate for this item :-(iv) Due care shall be taken for friction parameters during application of PME as per ICAO standards.(v) The work shall be got carried out through authorized and qualified applicators of the manufacturer of PME.(vi) Care shall be taken to fill gaps / cracks up to 3mm size with mineral filler as per manufacturer’s instructions. (vii) A performance guarantee certificate for two years shall be submitted by the contractor to the GE on completion of work as specified.(viii) Application of PME shall be done by flooding and wiping in both first coat and second coat with the help of wiper or as directed by the manufacturer.(ix) Trial patches for consumption shall be carried out before applying each coat of PME and approved by GE. |
