E-145: Stbd water jet shows alarm \"low lube oil\" in every hours post replenishment of tube oil in hydraulic power pack. During DI/DR by ship staff it was observed that Stbd steering cylinder of stbd water jet is leaking lube oil from cylinder seal end. Suspect cylinder seal damaged due, Further check was carried out and observed steering ram with scoring marks and same has initiated the damage of seal thereby leaking the steering cylinder. Steering cylinder to be removed and chrome plating to be carried ot for operationalising the water jet on priority sitting operational situation. in way job includes.(a) Removal of steering cylinder from stbd water jet and securing the water jet at midship for re-fitting the steering cylinder by help of marking the position and securing the jet with rope.(b) Transportation to and from Ahmadabad work shop for chrome plating the cylinder.(c) Dismantling of ram using hydraulic press and inspection of the steering ram and cylinder of scoring marks with gauges and finding the maximum depth for deciding the coasts of chrome required for the perfect coating.(d) Carrying out chrome piating at the rate of 3 coasts for proper finish on the surface of ram with each coast to have a curing period of 10 to 12 hours.(e) Post chrome plating the cylinder to be re-assembled. The seal kit of the cylinder to be renewed view seal kit is perished.(f) All other in way job to be included for proper completion of job including re-fitting and trails of the system.
