| 12 | M&L FOR WATER PROOFING TREATMENT :- (i) Preparation of the surfaces of the roof by cleaning with wire brush, removing old treatment, if any. (ii)Brooming with Broom and finally sweeping with gunny bag. (iii)Filling the thin grooves with hot bitumen and allowing them to dry. (iv) Appmying a coat of hot bitumen of grade 85/25 @ 1.20 kg/Sq.mtr over the area even and smooth. (v) Unrolling the roll of Polymeric water proofing membrane over the coated surface and presssmoothly to bond completely with the surface and no air bubble should be left under the membrane. The lap should not be less than 10 cm both horizontaly and vertically. The lap will not be measured separately. (vi)Lap should be sealed with flame and blown bnitumen thereafter. (vii) Applying the IInd layter of the hot bitumen of grade 85/25 @1.20 kg/Sq.mtr even and smooth on the polymeric membrane. (viii) Removing the debris off the campus. (ix) SPECIFICATION OF THE POLYMERIC MEMBRANE(a) The center core of themembrane should be 90 micron, with high modecular/high densityh polythelene film provided both side with SBS/APP polymer modified bitumen with properties of high softening point. (b) Top layer and botgtom layer - Therofusible high molecular/high density polythelene film. (c) Elengation - More than 300%. (d) Weight - 3.00 Kg/Sqm. (e) Thickness - 3 mm. (f) Make - Texsa India Ltd/IWL India Ltd/STP Ltd. (g) Softening point - More than 120 degree centigrade. (h) Should not break at Minus 15 Degree centigrade (ie - 15 C). (j) Should not drip at100 Degree centigrade. (k)Applying a coat bituminous base aluminium paint over water proofing membrane. (l) The firm will ensure that no seepage occurs from the area on which water proofing has been done as per specification above. (m) The firm will provide a guarantee for 7 years from the date of completion. |
