It includes shifting and relocation of plants and equipment within the site or plant premises as required during execution and complete demobilization after completion of works. The scope also includes deployment of operators, drivers, mechanics, helpers and supervisory staff, supply of fuel, lubricants, consumables, spares, routine servicing, breakdown maintenance and standby arrangements. It includes obtaining and maintaining all statutory approvals, permits, insurance and compliance with plant safety rules. The item includes providing temporary sheds, storage areas, access preparation, internal roads if required, power and water arrangements, lighting, barricading and establishment of quality control and testing facilities for slurry and concrete. The rate includes all labour, supervision, accommodation, handling, rehandling, transportation, all leads and lifts, taxes, duties, insurance, overheads and all incidental expenses required to make the complete diaphragm wall system fully ready for execution under running plant conditions. No separate payment shall be made for multiple mobilisations, extended standby, equipment idle time, restricted access, interruptions, night working, shift wise working or any delay arising from execution inside operating plant premises. Payment under this item shall be made only after commencement of diaphragm wall works and after complete mobilization, assembly, erection and commissioning of all plants, equipment, accessories and ancillary systems required to execute the work in all respects. Mere receipt of equipment at site, partial mobilization or equipment kept in standby condition shall not be eligible for any payment. No payment shall be admissible for idle, standby or non operational equipment under any circumstances.The rate shall be final and binding. No extra claim, compensation or extension of time shall be admissible on any account whatsoever. |

It includes providing and laying RCC guide walls of required dimensions suitable for diaphragm wall thickness, including supply of all materials, batching, mixing, placing, compaction by vibration, finishing, curing and protection. Making of pockets, openings, chamfers, rebates and provision of embedded sleeves or inserts as shown in drawings or required for execution is included. Removal of formwork after the specified period without damaging concrete is included. The scope includes deployment and operation of all required plants and machinery, tools and tackles, handling and shifting within site, quality control, measurements and records for line, level, alignment, thickness, concreting and curing. It includes safety arrangements, barricading, lighting, housekeeping and compliance with plant safety rules and permit systems while working inside running plant premises. The rate includes all labour, supervision, materials, PCC and RCC, shuttering and formwork, plants and machinery, tools and tackles, handling, rehandling, transportation, all leads and lifts, taxes, duties and all incidental expenses required for completion of guide wall works in all respects. The item includes providing pockets, openings, recesses, chamfers, rebates and embedded sleeves or inserts, dowels, starter bars and fixtures as shown in drawings or required for execution. It includes maintaining required line, level, alignment, dimensions and tolerances and making good of edges, corners and surfaces to the satisfaction of Engineer in Charge. The work shall be executed entirely inside a running shop or Continuous Casting Plant (CCP). The scope includes setting out of diaphragm wall alignment, panel layout and reference controls. Excavation shall be carried out by hydraulic grab or trench cutter with all required cranes, accessories and support equipment. Required line, level, verticality and dimensional tolerances shall be achieved and maintained at all times, and any correction or re excavation shall be at contractor’s cost. The item fully includes supply, operation and maintenance of polymer or bentonite slurry support system for trench stability, including mixing, circulation, storage, desanding or recycling, testing and continuous control of slurry properties such as density, viscosity, pH and sand content. Any variation in soil strata, groundwater conditions, slurry consumption, slurry loss, contamination, replacement or additional treatment shall be deemed included. The scope also includes dewatering, groundwater control, cleaning of trench bottom, removal of loose or collapsed material and achieving specified founding level in all conditions. All excavated or bored soil or spoil generated from diaphragm wall trench excavation, piling, boring or any associated activity is fully included in this item. This includes temporary stacking/ disposal within plant or site premises at approved locations, safe heap formation, barricading, dust suppression, rehandling, loading by mechanical or manual means, transportation through approved routes and final disposal outside the project area at contractor’s arranged dumping location. All leads, lifts, royalties, permits, taxes, unloading, spreading or levelling at disposal yard and complete site cleaning after removal are included. The item also includes execution inside running plant premises with live equipment and restricted access conditions. It includes compliance with plant safety rules, permit systems, shift wise or time bound working, night working if required, standby of manpower and machinery, repeated mobilisation or demobilisation, protection of existing structures, utilities and services, coordination with plant authorities and other agencies, traffic management, safety arrangements, barricading, lighting and complete housekeeping. All labour, supervision, tools, tackles, plants and machinery, fuel, consumables and statutory compliances are included. Measurement for payment shall be from EGL top of guide wall to diaphragm wall termination level only. Any deformation, damage or misalignment shall be rectified at contractor’s cost. The water stopper shall be securely tied or held with reinforcement using binding wire, clamps or approved fixtures to prevent any displacement during reinforcement cage lowering and tremie concreting. The item includes jointing of water stopper by heat welding or vulcanising strictly as per manufacturer’s recommendations to achieve continuous and fully watertight joints. It includes protection of water stopper from damage during handling, shifting, cage lowering, concreting and subsequent operations. Continuity and position of water stopper at all joints shall be checked and ensured before and during concreting. Any damage, misalignment or discontinuity shall be rectified at contractor’s cost. The scope includes cutting and shaping of thermocol sheets to required size and profile to suit reinforcement or dowel bar layout. It includes supply and fixing of 3 mm to 5 mm thick plywood cover boards over thermocol. The protective cover shall be fixed and secured properly over exposed reinforcement or dowel bars to prevent damage, bending, misalignment, corrosion, cement slurry ingress and displacement during concreting and subsequent works. Fixing shall include tying, taping, nailing, screwing and provision of supports or stiffeners as required to ensure stability. The item includes protection of covers during execution, removal and refixing wherever necessary due to sequencing of works, and final removal after completion of related concreting operations. Any damage to reinforcement or dowel bars due to improper protection shall be rectified at contractor’s cost. Supply of dowel bars or mechanical couplers shall be provided by the Client free of cost as per consultant drawings. All other materials required for protection works are included in this item. | 25 | Stacking, loading, transportation and disposal of bored or excavated soil generated from diaphragm wall trench excavation, piling, boring and all associated works, complete as per directions of Engineer in Charge. The scope includes temporary stacking of excavated or bored soil at locations outside the site or plant premises. The location for stacking and disposal shall be selected and arranged by the Bidder at its own cost. The Bidder shall maintain safe heap slopes, provide barricading, dust suppression and environmental control measures, and carry out rehandling wherever required. The item includes loading of soil into tippers or dumpers by excavator or manual means, transportation through approved routes, and final disposal outside the project area at the Bidder’s arranged dumping location. The scope includes unloading, spreading or levelling at the disposal yard, and cleaning of stacking and loading areas after removal. All leads and lifts are included. The scope also includes payment of royalty, permits, statutory fees, taxes, gate passes, transport permissions and compliance with local authority requirements. The work shall be executed inside a running shop or CCP without shutdown and under all operational constraints. The scope fully includes stop end pipes, stop end shutters or bulkheads of approved type, shape and size suitable for the specified diaphragm wall thickness. It includes all accessories such as guide frames, clamps, brackets, spacers, supports, lifting hooks, alignment devices and any temporary fixtures required to maintain correct line, level, verticality, tightness and stability during trench excavation and tremie concreting. Any correction, refixing or replacement required to achieve proper positioning shall be at contractor’s cost.Panel wise stop end requirement shall be deemed fully included in the quoted rate as follows.A) For primary panels, fixing of two numbers stop ends per panel including alignment, holding during excavation and concreting and subsequent extraction.B) For secondary panels, fixing of one number stop end per panel including alignment, holding during excavation and concreting and subsequent extraction.C) For closing panels, no stop end shall be provided and no separate payment shall be admissible on this account.The item fully includes checking and maintaining proper joint formation and interlock between adjacent panels, prevention of slurry leakage, extraction of stop ends after initial setting of concrete without damaging green concrete, cleaning, repair and preparation of stop ends for reuse, cleaning and preparation of joint faces for subsequent panel construction, removal of slurry cake or laitance at joint interface, and disposal of all waste materials generated. | 27 | Providing complete watertight treatment for all penetrations through diaphragm wall, including Cost of Steel items, materials like sleeves, inserts, embedded plates, pipe penetrations and openings, to ensure permanent leak proof performance, complete as per approved drawings, specifications, manufacturer recommendations and directions of Engineer in Charge. The diaphragm wall shall be treated as a permanent underground wall forming part of an underground pit, chamber and pump room. The item includes identification, preparation and cleaning of all penetration locations, sleeves and inserts prior to sealing. It includes supply and application of approved watertight sealing systems suitable for permanent underground construction, such as non shrink grout, crystalline waterproofing mortar, hydrophilic strips, sealing compounds, collars, clamps or proprietary systems as approved. All materials used shall be compatible with concrete, reinforcement and groundwater conditions. The scope includes sealing around sleeves and inserts on all sides, filling of annular gaps, compaction and finishing of sealing material, and protection during curing. The sealing shall be continuous, durable and capable of resisting groundwater pressure without cracking, debonding or deterioration. All joints between diaphragm wall panels, sleeves and inserts shall remain fully watertight. The item includes inspection, testing and rectification of any leakage, seepage or dampness observed during or after execution. Any repair, re sealing or additional treatment required to achieve complete watertightness shall be carried out by the Bidder at no extra cost. The rate includes all materials, labour, tools, tackles, consumables, handling, transportation, working platforms, safety arrangements, execution inside running plant premises, all leads and lifts and incidental expenses required to achieve complete leak proof conformity in all respects. Any damage to reinforcement due to improper execution shall be rectified at contractor’s cost. The item includes making the concrete surface sound, clean and ready for subsequent concreting, capping beam construction or connection works. It includes provision of necessary working platforms or scaffolding, compliance with plant safety rules, permit systems, safety arrangements, barricading and lighting. The scope fully includes supply of all shuttering and formwork materials such as steel plates or plywood, runners, walers, soldiers, props, scaffolding, staging, clamps, bolts, ties, wedges, supports and all accessories required for complete formwork system. It includes fabrication, erection and fixing of formwork to the required shape, size, line, level and plumb. Provision of chamfers, fillets, grooves, rebates, pockets, openings, inserts, sleeves, dowels, anchor bolts and construction joints as shown in drawings or required for execution is fully included. The item includes application of approved shuttering oil, sealing of joints to prevent leakage of cement slurry, grout or water, and providing adequate bracing, staging and supports to safely withstand fresh concrete pressure, vibration, working loads and site constraints. Alignment, rigidity and stability of formwork shall be maintained throughout concreting and any correction required shall be at contractor’s cost. The scope also includes removal and stripping of formwork after the specified period without causing damage to concrete edges, corners or surfaces. It includes cleaning, handling, shifting and stacking of formwork materials for reuse or removal. Any repair to concrete surfaces arising from formwork defects shall be deemed included. The rate includes all labour, supervision, tools and tackles, scaffolding and staging, consumables, shuttering oil, handling, rehandling, transportation, shifting within site, all leads and lifts, compliance with plant safety rules, permit systems, restricted access conditions, barricading, lighting, housekeeping and all incidental expenses required for completion of the work in all conditions. No separate payment shall be made for variation in beam size, height, depth, curvature, working height, access difficulty, congestion of reinforcement, interruptions, idle time, night work or execution inside running plant premises. The scope fully includes supply of reinforcement steel by the contractor, handling at site or fabrication yard, straightening and de coiling where required, removal of rust, mill scale or surface impurities, cutting and bending to required shapes, hooks, cranks, bends and lengths. It includes providing laps, anchorage and development length strictly as per drawings and specifications. Welding shall be carried out wherever specified, including supply of welding sets, power, electrodes and consumables. The item includes assembling and fabrication of reinforcement comprising main bars, distribution bars, stirrups, links, binders and all secondary steel necessary for proper fixing. It includes placing reinforcement in correct position with specified cover, fixing cover blocks, chairs, spacers, separators and supports, tying at all intersections with approved binding wire, and maintaining correct spacing, alignment, line and level during concreting. Any adjustment, correction or refixing required to achieve compliance shall be at contractor’s cost. The rate includes all labour, supervision, tools and tackles, cutting and bending charges, welding sets and consumables, binding wire, cover blocks, chairs, spacers, handling, rehandling, transportation, shifting within site, all leads and lifts, compliance with plant safety rules, permit systems, restricted access conditions, standby, repeated mobilisation if required and all incidental expenses necessary for completion of reinforcement work in all conditions. No separate payment shall be made for variation in bar diameter, quantity, congestion, working height, access difficulty, interruptions, idle time, night work or execution inside running plant premises.
