| 2 | Disassembly & Reinstallation of DD Elevator A Motor, Gearbox, Head-end Sprocket Assembly.The scope of work involves organizing site arrangements and collecting the necessary chain blocks, tools, and tackles from the tool crib or store. Upon receiving clearance to commence, top cover, boot covers, side covers, and necessary doors shall be opened.The top covers shall be removed and shifted to the SF Conveyor floor.The Back-stopper of the gearbox shall be removed, and suitably position the chain links and buckets by manual rotation of the elevator chain for delinking. The bottom-side sprocket assembly shall be lifted with the chain block. Decouple the coupling halves connecting the motor-gearbox and gearbox-sprocket assembly. The buckets, lock pins, and connecting pins of the links shall be removed to dismantle the chain. The contractor should refrain from using the gas-cutting torch to cut the connecting pins, bush, or sidebar. If any difficulties arise during the pin removal process, the contractor should follow the instructions of the Technician/Officer-in-Charge. Loosen the foundation bolts of the motor, gearbox and sprocket assembly.Arrange necessary lifting tools, chain blocks etc. at the site and Lift the motor, gearbox and sprocket assembly, and place it outside the foundation area as per the instructions from the Technician/Officer-in-Charge. Assess and correct the level of foundation of the sprocket assembly, gearbox, and motor. Where foundation holes do not match, or levelling/strengthening is required, necessary corrections shall be made. The sprocket assembly shall be centeredto the casing and fixed first, followed by refixing the gearbox and motor in position. The distance between the coupling halves of the gearbox and sprocket assembly shall then be adjusted to ensure proper alignment.Check & correct the alignment of Sprocket-Gearbox and Gearbox-Motor units, fix the coupling spacer(gearbox and sprocket), coupling (gearbox and motor) and fasten all the bolts.Alignment shall be done under the supervision of the Technician/Officer-in-Charge with Laser Alignment System.After alignment process, the chain links, pins, and lock pins shall be fixed back in position.The dismantled/new buckets, side covers, bottom-side sprocket assembly shall be fixed back properly.Release the chain blocks.Box-up boot covers and inspection covers. Fix the back-stopper of the gearbox. Reassemble the top cover, coupling guards, followed by a trial run. After a successful trial, clear the site, return the chain blocks, tools, and tackles to the tool crib/store, and transport damaged or worn-out parts to the scrap yard or workshop area, as instructed by the Technician/Officer-in-Charge. Flame cutting or heating is not allowed for de-linking the chain.Any fixture/support fabrication for removing/fixing/shifting of the equipments is under the scope of the contractor. |
| 3 | Fabrication & Replacement of Boot Doors of DD ElevatorThe scope of work involves organizing site arrangements and collecting the necessary plates and structural elements from the Store/Plant area.Upon receiving clearance to start the work, the damaged boot doors along with hinges shall be removed by cutting or grinding. The contractor shall fabricate and erect a new set of boot doors using CS/MS plates and appropriate structural members, including provision for handles, hinges, and other related fittings. The scope of work includes cutting, shaping, and assembling CS/MS plates and structural components as per the existing door design. The contractor shall be responsible for fabricating the doors from raw materials and replacing the existing damaged doors with the newly fabricated one.Full welding shall be carried out on all joints, both internally and externally, followed by thorough grinding to remove any sharp edges/burr.Standard welding procedures shall be followed at every stage.Additional temporary supports shall be arranged as required to ensure safe and smooth progress of the erection activities.Fabrication of hinges, latches, handles and other related fittings shall be in the scope of this contract.The fabricated parts shall be painted with two (02) coats of zinc chromate yellow primer of approved make / quality and two (02) coats of synthetic enamel paint of distinct colours of approved make / quality. The surfaces to be painted shall be cleaned manually using a wire brush to the extent that the entire surface is free from dirt, dust, oil, grease, or any foreign material.All costs incurred in painting, including the cost of paints, primers, painting equipment, cleaning equipment, handling charges, and any other incidental expenses, shall be within the contractor\"s scope. |
