| 1 | Notes for all Painting and Water Proofing items:- The following precautionary measures shall be ensured by the contractor before and during execution of the work:- |
| 2 | (i) All the painting works and water proofing works shall be got executed through original material manufacturing company and their authorised applicators as approved by GE and contractor should submit MOU with the manufacturing company and their authorised applicator alongwith performance guarantee otherwise recovery of Rs 2000.00 per week will be made from the contractors dues from the date of commencement of work.Make: Asian Paints/ Nerolac Paints/ Berger Paints |
| 3 | (ii) Submission of MOU will be mandatery requirement before execution of work as the entire work shall be executed with the approved firm only. |
| 4 | (iii) Contractor shall give guarantee from OEM of 5 years for effectiveness of painting carried out by them from the certified date of completion of work |
| 5 | (iv) Contractor shall deposit entire quantity of material(proprietory materials) in sealed containers required for painting works covered under subject contract in the custody of Engineer-in-Charge/Office in charge of unit. |
| 6 | (v) The materials as required shall be issued to contractor by JE/Engineer-in-Charge on daily basis and the empty containers/bags shall be deposited in the store of Engineer-in-Charge by the contractor,for verification as per standard consumption/coverage prescribed by the manufactures. |
| 7 | (vi) After completion of painting work contractor shall remove and clean all the droplets/stain of paint left on the floor,glasses and joinery. |
| 8 | (vii) The work shall be executed in multi storey buildings up to Eight storey height and cost of suitable scaffolding shall be deemed to be included in quoted rates by the tenderer. |
| 9 | (viii) The work will be carried out in following steps as appended below:- |
| 10 | M&L for complete removal of old existing treatment of wall (external/ internal) and ceiling finished using mechanical dry wall sander machine (having mechanical vacuum mechanism) having RPM not less than 1500,sanding pad of 320 grit or above to completely remove old existing treatment for wall and ceiling surface and ready to take new surface finishes complete all as specified and directed. |
| 11 | M&L for preparation of oldsurface of wall including filling undulated surface and applying two coat of cement base paint including one coat of primer on plastered and other surfaces with alkali resistant priming paint complete all as specified and directed. (Note:- Colour of paint will be decided as per GE directions.) |
| 12 | M&L for applying waterproof cement based putty @0.8 kg(undiluted) per sq mtr. of average thickness 2.5mm in two coats on prepared wall(external/internal) and ceiling surfaces as per sr item No 1.00 above in the following steps:-(i) Filling cracks in wall using crack seal compound Asian smart care crack seal or equivalent as approved by GE.(ii) Mix the putty powder @ 0.8 kg/sqm by adding 35 to 40% water by volume or as per approved manufacturer\"s instruction and mix it with electric putty mixer with the mixing capacity of min 2.5 kg puttyper minute upto 5 to10 minutes.(iii) Apply the first coat of the prepared mix with the help of fully automatic airless spary machine of putty application having flow speed of max 6 ltrs per minutes with a maximum pressure 3300 PSI with bottom to top configuration and allow 6-8 hrs to dry the putty surface.(iv) Apply the second coat of the prepared mix with the help of fully automatic airless spray machine of putty application having flow speed of max 6 ltrs per minutes with a maximum pressure 3300 PSI with horizontal configuration.(v) Allow 6-8 hrs to dry putty surface then prepare the surface by electronic wall sander machine to apply subsequent coats of primer complete all as specified and directed.Note:- Primer shall be measured and paid seperately under relevant item. |
| 13 | M&L for applying one coat of acrylic water based exterior grade/interior grade primer @0.9ltr(undiluted)/10 sq mtrs diluted with water in 1:1 ratio to be applied with fully automatic airless spray machine of paint application with a flow speed of min 1 ltr per minute having a pressure of 3300 PSI on prepared and wall (external) surfaces as per srl item no.1.01 and 1.02 above.Allow 6-8 hrs to dry the surface for painting of subsequent coats complete all as specified and directed. |
| 14 | M&L for applying two coats of anti fungal weather proof grade exterior acrylic emulsion paint of approved tint @1.8 ltrs/10sqm (undiluted) or as per approved manufacturer\"s instruction and as per GE over prepared and primed surface of external wall as per srl item No. 1.01 to 1.03 above.Allow 6-8 hrs to dry the surface in subsequent coats of paint complete all as specified and directed. |
| 15 | M&L for preparation of old plastered or unplasteredsurface of wall including filling undulated surface and applying one coat of cement base paintcomplete all as specified and directed. Note:- Colour of paint will be decided as per engineer in charge/GE directions.) |
| 16 | M&L for preparation of old decorated surfaces of walls, minor repairs and filling depressions/chippingwith wall care putty( where ever required) and applying one coat of Oil Bound Distemper including cleaning of OBD stains on floor /window/joinery\"s surfaces complete all as specified and directed. |
| 17 | M & L for complete removal of existing treatment from walls applying a coat of priming plastered and other surfaces with alkali resistant primimg paint over and including wall care putty 1 mm thickand applying two coats of Oil Bound distemper with rich matt finish with roller including cleaning of OBD stains on floor/window/joinery\"s complete all as specified and directed. |
| 18 | M&L for preparation of old Plastered or unplastered surfaces of ceiling and applying two coat of white wash over wall care putty(where ever required) on ceiling surfacescompleteall as specified and as directed. |
| 19 | M&L for applying wall care putty 1mm thick onceiling even and fair surface complete all as specified and directed. |
| 20 | M&L for dismantling of Loose concrete cover from ceiling surface/chajja(including staircase ceiling) area exc 1.50 sqm including derusting of steel reinforcement,(reinforcing the reinforcement by providing TMT steel bar of required dia welded to the existing reinforcement) preparing the surface by cleaning dirt etc, applying chemical admixture over reinforcement,provided chicken wire mesh (before applying first layer). Apply a rendering coat of cement plaster upto surface of existing thickness of concrete in CM 1:3 and second layer 10mm thick rendering in CM 1:3,three coats of whitewash to match with existing surface complete all as specified and directed.Note:- Rate quoted shall be inclusive of all scaffolding, props and shuttering, chicken wire mesh, steel reinforcement, chemical admixture and other T&P etc. |
| 21 | M&L for Preparation of old painted zinc or galvanised surface of any description and in position and applying two coat of synthetic enamel paint all as specified.Note:- (i) The surface of corrugated steel sheeting shall be measured flat (not girth) without any extra allowance for laps and the area obtain shall be increased by 14%).(ii) The surface of plain steel sheeting as in ridge, hips, valley gutters, flashings etc, shall be measured flat alongwith girth (length and girth as fixed) and the area obtained shall be added to the area of corrugated steel sheeting,(Height more than 8.00 from FFL) complete all as specified and directed. |
| 22 | Demolition ofBrick /stone walling built in cement mortar including all quoins ,coping etc and removal of rubbish beyond MOD land complete all as specified and directed. |
| 23 | M&L brick work built in cement mortar(1:6) using sub class \"B\" bricks straight or curved on plan exc 6 mtr mean radius complete all as specificed and directed. |
| 24 | M&L for 10mm thick rendering of ready mix plaster of approved make on brick work or concrete surfaces on wall, finish the surface even and smooth without using extra cement as whole or in patch etc and applying two coats of Oil Bound Distemper over a coat of primer and including 1mm thick wall care putty etc all as directed, rubbish of the premises complete all as specified and directed. |
| 25 | Taking down cement plaster on brick or stone walls, etc. including raking out joints, hacking for key, scrubbing down with water, etc. complete all as specified and as directed. |
| 26 | M&L for 5mm thick rendering of ready mix plaster of approved make on soffit of Rcc slab/ceiling/beams, finish the surface even and smooth without using extra cement as whole or in patch etc including taking down cement plaster on brick walls etc and applying three coat of white wash all as directed, rubbish of the premises complete all as specified and directed. |
| 27 | M&L for 15mm thick rendering of ready mix plaster of approved make on brick work or concrete surfaces on wall, finish the surface even and smooth without using extra cement as whole or in patch etc including taking down cement plaster on brick walls etc all as specified and directed . |
| 28 | M&L for preparation of newsurfaces of walland applying two coat of cement base paint over and including a coat of priming plastered and other surfaces with alkali resistant priming paint complete all as specified and as directed. |

| 32 | M&L for writing letters or figures (Block, Roman, Italic or Indian) n exc 30 cm high including one coat of synthetic enamel paint on plastered surface before writing letters complete all as specified and directed. |
| 33 | M&L for writing stops, commas, short lines, dashes, hyphens, bracket etccomplete all as specified and directed. |
| 34 | M&L for de-rooting and clearing away all grass, vegetation, saplings, shurbs, undergrowth, roots and trees etc by picking or cutting of wall around or by taking down cement plaster and making good with PCC 1:2:4 Type B0 or cement mortar (1:2) and plastering with 15 mm thick with water proofing compound in CM 1:4 @ 0.125gm/50Kg of cement andto match with existing and neighbouring surface treated with herbicide as per manufcturer\"s instruction including repairing the GI/CI/PVC pipe joints which were damaged during cutting/taking out process area not exceeding 1 sqm including necessay scaffolding/staging upto a height of 15 m from the ground level complete all as required and directed. |
